Very short Pecha Kucha style presentation on the challenges of creating and adapting OER and how new models of facilitated adaptation will probably meet the needs of most people.
OER are resources for teaching and learning which reside in the PD or have been released under an IP license which permits free use and adaptation by anyone. Sounds good, but what does that mean ? And do I have to use OER differently? Mostly, it all just sounds so darn complicated !
Some things are easy to change, but oh so boring!
Other things may be more visually interesting, but perhaps to a fault? These types of resources can obviously be improved, but even if you had permission, would you feel all that compelled to adapt them?
