  8. 3rd & 4th graders given two class periods to collaborate, brainstorm, research and develop ideas & sketches. Students finished essay and sketches outside of the classroom. Thinking larger than themselves, their community and about possibiities was really amazing to watch and be part of their discussions.

  10. At the Constructing Modern Knowledge week long conference last summer I was the personality type that needed to have an end goal in sight before I started to play. My learning process was less because of it, those that tinkered with robotics and materials in a self-discovery process, valued their play and trusted the process. I believe their learning process was much richer. I do not want to rob students of their sense of play. It is crucial. I think we can all agree that life is much richer when we allow ourselves to PLAY!
