• Imagine yourself on Google
• You want to find companies that manufacture Ateco Glue
• You type the word “Ateco Glue” or you decide to type
“manufacturer of Ateco Glue”
• The phrase “Ateco Glue “ or “ Manufacturer Ateco Glue “ is what is
known as “Keyword phrase “
• Keywords are terms people use on search engines to find
information about a particular topic.
• A good Keyword starts with “Users Intent”

Keyword research is very important as it let you know
how your customers finds you online.
Without a keyword, Google
would not know how to
categories your search. This
means loss of potential
customers that needs your
services or products.

keyword research.

All men are not equal.

drive traffic to your website and also convert. Therefore a
good Keyword must pass the following test.
1.Relevancy
2.Volume
3.Competition
4.Commerciality
Relevancy
A good keyword must be RELEVANT.
Relevancy is an important part of your keyword research.
You want to choose words or phrases that correctly
describe your business and the pages on your website.
This is the first step.
Volume
A good keyword must have high VOLUME.
Volume is the amount of people using that are using that
particular phrase to search.
You need people to visit your website. So you need
phrases that people are searching for in high quantity.
e.g In Nigeria, Car finance has a higher volume than car
loans. So it make sense to target car finance than car
loans
Competition
Choosing a keyword that is highly COMPETITIVE is not a
brilliant idea if you just starting out.
You need to choose keywords with low or medium
competition to gain a competitive edge.
Commerciality
A good keyword must have good COMMERCIAL value.
You do not want to pick a keyword nobody is willingly to
stake their money on.
Summary
• A good Keyword Phrase that will add value to your website search
engine optimization must pass the 4 test values. If it doest not ,it
does not make sense to target such keyword.
• Remember, a good keyword must have high volume, low
competition, great commercial values and must highly be relevant to
your niche.
