1. The following link will take you directly to the page needed to create a Fan

Above the information you have just entered is the ‘tabs’ menu. You have your
wall, info, photos and discussions from the very beginning. By clicking the ‘+’ you
can add new tabs.
Note: If you are planning to import your blog you can go ahead and add the
Notes tab.
View and make

This is the best
way to interact
with fans.
Everything you
post appears on
their News Feed.

1. From the ‘wall’ tab click on:

Note: You may leave this set to ‘everyone’.
3. Enter 1 or more countries
and languages. You can drill
down your audience by
selecting states, cities, etc.
Select ‘Okay’ when finished.

1. Select from the ‘wall’ tab.

will see when they
arrive on your page.
3. Choose the tab
non-fans will see on
arrival.
4. Checking this keeps
all comments on the
wall. Removing this
condenses posts.
Users will need to
click to see all
comments in a
thread.

- 8. Photos
To add a profile picture simply click on the question mark and select ‘upload’.
To add additional photos click the ‘photos’ tab and then ‘create a photo album’.
You will be asked to provide basic information about the album.
You will then be able to select 1 or more photos from your computer and upload
them to the new album. You can create more than one album, each with 200
photos. Captions can be added to any photo, and photos can be rotated with on-
screen tools.

- 10. Edit Page
The menu pictured to the left will be accessed more than
anything as you grow your Fan Page.
1. Select ‘edit page’ from the menu.
2. This page is your new communication hub.
You can access your settings, link to a mobile device,
edit discussions, edit/add events, edit links, edit notes,
edit photos, edit videos and manage applications.

Settings – These are similar to those we
discussed in the beginning of the
presentation, but you can restrict age
here.
Wall Settings – Same as previously
discussed.
Mobile – Add a phone to update your
status on the go.
Admins – These are people you
designate to have access to your page.
They can make edits, etc. Add trusted
individuals
Badge – This is something your users
can place on their page. Create a badge
to share and increase your Facebook
visibility.

See how many fans your
page has.
The number of new
visitors and how many
times they viewed your
page in the last week.
View old messages sent
to fans.
Insights will be covered
on the next slide.
The major benefit of a
fan page is the ability to
send everyone a
message at once. You
can also use the target
tool in the message to
reach out to a specific
gender, age, location,
etc.
A fan box is added to a web page or
blog so visitors can see fans of your
fan page.

1. Click ‘all page insights’.
At the top of your screen is a breakdown of the
interactions for the week.
‘Choose a graph’ allows
you to pick the data you
want to see. There’s a
button at the top of your
screen that allows for this
information to be exported
to excel.

The first demographic box contains
information for the fans that were
active on your fan page in the last
week.
The second demographic box
contains information for all fans. This
is much more accurate because it is
not based on recent activity.

The ‘all fans over time’ graph
is the most useful of all. You
can see how many fans have
viewed the page, videos,
subscribed, etc. You change
views with the drop down
menu.
You’ll find this button at the
top right of the screen.
‘Promote your page’ is a pay
per click and pay per view
service that Facebook offers.
It’s inexpensive and relatively
effective.
This is the measurement of
quality between your
content and user interaction
over seven consecutive days.

- 16. Suggest to Friends
Every Fan Page is connected to a personal page, even if
you don’t use it. If you have used the personal page this
is how you invite your friends from there to the newly
created Fan Page. Click ‘suggest to friends’ and the
below screen will populate with friends. You can select
as many as you like and send them an invitation to
become a fan.
The second red arrow on the left is indicating a text box
that you may place either your web address or mission
statement in. Remember many fans notice this space
first, utilize it!

- 17. RSS Feed
Make sure you have added the ‘notes’ tab before continuing.
1. Click ‘edit page’ below the profile picture.
2. Locate ‘notes’ and click ‘edit’.
3.Click ‘import a blog’.

4. Where you see ‘web url’ enter the RSS feed for your blog or news feed.
5. Confirm your right to use this content.
6. Start importing.
Note: It will take 1-2 hours before your blog begins to appear.

Remember all the great
insight graphs we just
reviewed? You can also
access them from the fan
landing page. Click on ‘see
all’ to do just that.
Clicking share will bring
up a text box with a link
to your fan page. You
can post this to your
profile page, if you use
it, or send it to a
Facebook friend’s email.

Post a link to your
wall.
Upload photos without
clicking the ‘photos’ tab.
Schedule an event
for fans to attend.
Upload videos.
All of these tools have very easy to use
menus associated with them. Once you
click they are very self explanatory.
