2. A deep knowledge of colors, line and space imparts to his paintings dimensions of amazing beauty. The artist almost invites the nature to exhibit its mythical, seductive beauty and gleaming. His artistic language is comprised of colorful language and sweeping compositions specially illuminated by intrinsic lights emanating from the painting itself, from the matter. His special technique of oil color application based on thick and massive application, are reminiscent of the work of the alchemists. His landscape paintings are like an erupting volcano comprised of small mosaic pieces that merge into a complete picture. The artist notes the changes in the landscape vis-à-vis his own feelings, yet the outcome is not schematic, but novel and fresh in each one of his paintings. He tells us a story with his well expressed and rich artistic language. One can link him to the impressionists, expressionists and fauvists as he reveals in his works unique richness of the landscapes leading to a powerful impact that enhances the beauty of nature. . In his technique the colors are applied with palette or painting knives in a myriad of multiple layers of small and sharp strokes. He prefers to paint in a free style enjoying the application and tangible quality of heavy and thick oil paint with bright and expressive colors. He blends the colors up to an impasto surface, almost three dimensional sculpturing, yet his vibrant and vivid colors remain fresh and pure. The layers of oil colors meld together to form a texture that produces a kinetic-like image, enhanced by “Tsunami-like” movements.
