The euroFOT project aims to perform large-scale field operational tests of intelligent vehicle systems with ordinary drivers on public roads. It will investigate the performance, driver behavior, user acceptance, and impacts on safety, efficiency, and the environment of several advanced driver assistance systems. The euroFOT consortium involves 28 partners from across Europe conducting tests with over 150 commercial vehicles and 690 passenger cars, collecting over 18.5 million kilometers of real-world driving data. Key systems under investigation include forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning.
