through effective value driver modelling

Introduction
Understanding the complex linkages between operational
variables at a mine site and the financial performance of that
mine is now more critical than ever as operators deal with the
slump in commodity prices.
Even before the downturn, many of Australia’s leading mining
companies had started to implement a more structured approach to
cost effective decision making across all areas of mine production.
This paper highlights Australian mining best practice in both
operations cost management and production value maximisation

Introduction Understanding the complex linkages between operational variables at a mine site and the financial performance of that mine is now more critical than ever as operators deal with the slump in commodity prices. Even before the downturn, many of Australia’s leading mining companies had started to implement a more structured approach to cost effective decision making across all areas of mine production. This paper highlights Australian mining best practice in both operations cost management and production value maximisation through robust modelling of operational value drivers.
