2. Introduction..
The main challenge is to increase the number of
drinking water connection to the households.
Take an integrated view of the water supply in urban
and rural areas.
Source Dataset: Female Headed Households
Classified by Source and Location of Drinking Water
and availability of Electricity and Latrine
3. Idea.. Creativity at its Best
Summing of all the household getting water supply
from tap water (Treated and Untreated) for within and
near premises
This is done for urban and rural data.
Get the percentage of households getting water supply
from any specific source with respect to all sources
Above calculation is used to get top performing states.
4. In mathematical terms…
Percentage=Num/Denom
Where Num=Sum of number of households using tap
water from within and near premises , treated and
untreated source
Denom=Sum of number of households from all sources.
Sum of treated and untreated water users are taken as
water suitable for drinking.
5. Usability..
Target audience is the government and the citizens of India.
The raw data is processed and a Graphical representation of the Output is
generated.
The graphical data can be used by the government to analyze the situation and
take steps to improve the conditions of less performing states.
The government can also use this application to get feedback from the
consumer of the facilities.
Very interactive and the output is presented precisely.
6. Does it really matter?
Is an effective way to analyze the details of water
connection to households.
Path breaking tool for the government as a user.
Government can use the graphical output to address the
main challenge of 12th five year plan i.e to increase the
percentage of households with water connection.
Feedback(From country at large) is handled effectively.
7. User Flow Diagram..
User -> View statistics->select any particular state to
see details->End
Mobile App for Feedback
Start the app->select take survey->fill in the questions-
>submit the feedback->close the app
11. Relevance to 12th five year plan.
According to 2011 census, only 70.6% of urban population has a water
connection.
Integrated view of water supply.
Reduction in unaccounted water supply.
100 percent metering of water supply is not far from reality.
