2. GIRL ON FIRE – HUNGER GAMES
• Whilst watching this clip I had to analyse the
different sounds within it.
• I will show the different sounds that was used in the
clip and the background noises.

3. NON-DIEGETIC SOUNDS
• In this scene Katniss couldn’t listen to anything the
interviewer was saying because of her nerves.
• However, the audience could hear him, this would
make it non-diegetic.

4. VOLUME CONTROL
• At the beginning of the clip the volume was low as
she couldn’t hear anything but hear nerves.
• Whilst only hearing her nerves it seemed more like
an echoic sound.

5. DIALOGUE (SPEECH AND LANGUAGE)
• When it comes closer to the end of the interview,
the interviewer showed a bit of sympathetic tone
towards Katniss.
• This was when asked about her sister, and how she
took her place.

6. AMBIENT SOUND
• During the interview, you can hear the audience
cheering and clapping.
• This would be background sound in digenesis.

7. SOUND BRIDGE
• This is where the continues across one or more shots.
• When the interviewer is talking the camera is on
Katniss.

8. SOUND PERSPECTIVE
• It’s when we as an audience can tell if the sound is
placed near or far, or even coming from a
particular place.
• In the clip we are able to tell that there are lots of
people in the audience by the way they’re cheer
was coming from a distance.
