The Iraq War consisted of two phases: an invasion of Iraq led by the US starting in 2003, and a second phase of fighting against an insurgent opposition. The US claimed Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction posing a threat, but others dispute this was the main reason for war. The US-led coalition fought against Saddam Hussein's Iraq. The war had massive costs for all parties involved and the total cost estimates for the US are over $2 trillion, far more than initial estimates.

The Iraq War was an armed conflict in Iraq that
consisted of two phases.
• The first phase consisted of an invasion of
Iraq starting on 20 March 2003 by an invasion
force led by the United States.
• The second phase was a longer phase of
fighting, in which an insurgency emerged to
oppose the occupying forces and the newly
formed Iraqi government
3. What caused the war?
Many people have different opinions of how the
war started. The main reason the war started
was the governments of the United States

their security and that of their
coalition/regional aliases .

The Bush administration estimated the war would cost $50 to
$60 billion, including the costs of reconstruction and clean
up. As of 2013, the Cost of War Project estimates the war
has cost $1.7 trillion—nearly 30 times the pre-war
estimate. That cost doesn't factor in future costs of
veterans' care, which push the total to more than $2.1
trillion. The Veterans Administration spending related to
Iraq—which totals $45 billion—is almost as much as the
Bush administration's overall cost estimate

8. Our Opinion of the war?
K’iara – Honestly I think the was pointless , If the
U.S. job was to only go find weapons of mass
destruction and build the trust of the Iraqis
then there shouldn’t have been a war.
