 Macbeth - Brave Scottish Solider
 Lady Macbeth - Macbeth’s wife
 King Duncan -King of Scotland
 Malcolm -King Duncan’s older son
 Donalbain -King Duncan’s other son
 Banquo - Friend of Macbeth
 Fleance - Banquo’s son
 Macduff -Another Scottish thane
 Lady Macduff- Macduff’s wife
 The play started on a very rainy day, where
there was no sun or moon, and nobody
knew whether it was day or night
 Three witches appeared and started to
discuss when their next meeting would be
 They decided to meet when Macbeth came
  back from the battle
 There was a war between Scottish &
    Norwegians

 Macbeth and Banquo were the leaders of
    their country’s victory
 When Macbeth & Banquo returned from the
  battle, they encountered three witches
 They were surprised at the sight of the
witches saying; Macbeth; “so foul and fair a
day I have not seen” Banquo: “what are
these, so withered and so wild in their attire,
are you creatures of this would or some
other? Macbeth; “Are you living or dead?
  Speak!”
 The witches gave Macbeth & Banquo
three prophesies, they were as follows:

1) Macbeth will be thane of Cawdor
2) Macbeth will be king
3) Banquo’s sons will be kings
 At first, Macbeth didn’t believe them, so he
asked them to explain to him what they meant.
 He said “By sinel’s death I know I am Thane of
Glamis; But how of Cawdor? The Thane of
Cawdor lives, a prosperous gentleman; and to
be king, Stand not within the prospect of belief,
No more than to be Cawdor. Say from whence,
you owe this strange intelligence? Or why, upon
this blasted heath you stop our way, with such
prophetic greating? Speals I charge you” (act.1-
  71-77). The witches then vanished
 After the witches vanished, a messenger
come from the king and informed Macbeth
that he was now the Thane of Cawdor
 This surprised Macbeth, and he started to
think that the if one of the witches
prophesies became true, then so might the
others, and he might become King
 Lady Macbeth got a letter from her husband
telling her about the witches and their
  prophesies.
 She got very excited and began picturing her
  soon to be kingdom.
 She knew her husband was weak, so she
began planning how they were going to
  overthrow the king.
 When Macbeth arrived from battle, she told
him all he had to do was to be capable of
committing the deed, and they would have
  the throne.
 After the battle King Duncan told Macbeth
that he will be visiting Macbeth at his
  castle.
 He also announced that his son Malcolm
will be the king after him.
 Lady Macbeth prepared her self.
 She welcomed the guests and provided a
special dinner and entertainment for the
  King
 When everyone had gone to bed, Macbeth
was walking alone and thinking about how
  he could murder his king.
 Lady Macbeth followed him and said “Are
you afraid to let your actions be as bold as
  your desires?”
 Macbeth eventually killed the king, but he
  felt very guilty.
 He said, "sleep no more! Macbeth doth
  murder sleep.” Act.2.2-37.
 After King Duncan’s death, strange things
  happened in the castle.
 Macbeth murdered the guards & he began
preparing for his rule of the kingdom.
 Banquo suspected Macbeth, because he
didn’t forget what the witches said.
 King Duncan’s sons got scared and decided to
  flee for their lives.
 Macbeth set up a plan for the murder of
  Banquo and Fleance.
 He told the murders; “it is concluded. Banquo
thy soul’s flight, if it find it out tonight”
 Banquo suspected what was happening, so
   he made a plan himself.
 He took his son for a walk and they prepared
  to escape just in case.
 Unfortunately, the murders managed to
catch and kill Banquo, but luckily his son
  Fleance managed to run away.
 When Macbeth thinks about his friend
  Banquo’s death he feels happy.
 He says; "I had else been perfect.
 Banquo’s ghost appears at diner time, and
Macbeth begins to think he is going crazy
 Lady Macbeth is worried , she is no longer
  interested in being queen.
 Macbeth looses control, and Lady Macbeth
  tries to settle him down.
 Macbeth then goes back to see the witches
for more specific information about their
  prophesies
