Letter of Recommendation for Vunan Lu

Vunan has been a great asset to Vanguard Wines. She has taken an active role and is eager to continue to
learn new ways to approach and solve issues. Her overall desire to understand and improve processes makes
her a truly valuable person to have on any logistics team.
One of her primary roles was to manage our inbound wine shipments from California and Europe. Her
responsibilities included obtaining competitive quotes for all international container shipments, evaluating
those quotes, overseeing the pick-up process from our international suppliers and overseeing the receipt of
the wine into our warehouse. She also was responsible for matching purchase orders to item receipts and
supplier invoices for all domestic and international orders. In addition, she sent weekly emails to our
Portfolio and Warehouse Teams notifying them of new wines arriving at the warehouse.
Vunan has also spearheaded several special projects, including the development of a route calendar template
utilized by our Sale Managers for assisting their Sales Reps in daily sales route planning and she continues to
refine the backend reporting progress related to the calendar. Yunan has also prepared detailed cost
analyses on inbound shipments, allowing the management team to make more informed decision on rate
quotes and maintains monthly outbound route cost reporting. She has even stepped in and assisted our
Sales Support and Accounting teams in documenting SOPprocesses for training use.
I would highly recommend Yunan for any position in the Logistics industry that requires the use of her
analytical and technical skills. She is not afraid to tackle a problem, do research on her own or work with
others in a team setting.
Yunan is scheduled to work through mid-December 2016 (her graduation date from OSU). We will certainly
miss her in 2017. Numerous managers have commented that whoever hires Yunan is hitting the jackpot!
