5. OBJECTIVES
Quetta was once a city of Orchards but now it has
turned into a Concrete Jungle .
The building code was applied after devastating
earthquake of 1935.
Only single storey Buildings were allowed but the
double storey buildings were not allowed by the Civil
administration .
This city was designed for 50,000 to 80,000 peoples
after 1935 Earthquake.
After becoming the provincial capital Peoples from all
corners came here to settle here and around it.
6. Now the city houses more then 2.5 million peoples.
The City started expending after 1970 towards all
surrounding four mountains.
Only few areas were established with some planning
1) Satellite town 2) Shahbaz town 3) Jinnah town
4)Model Town 5) Arbab Town
The peoples living in the outskirts of the town
constructed mud and bricked wall houses. As a result
unplanned and illegal towns were established with no
proper network and poor sanitation system.
The residential areas of Quetta has completely turned
into a jungle of huge commercial plazas , hotels and
shopping malls
