Internship Summary
I had taken up an internship with a Brand Consulting andexternal communication organizationcalled ‘Stickygarlic
Communications’. Stickygarlic is a brand consulting firmwhich provides integrated marketingservicesand participating as
marketing partners or strategic partnersto a largenumber of renowned companies.They areinvolved in providingservices
likebrand consulting,social media management,Graphic design,Web design,Digitalappsdesignand video production.
During this internship I was introduced to various marketing practices includingsocial mediamarketingand content
marketing.
Content Marketing includes writing blogs,creating postsand content that would grabtheattention of thepotential buyer
and aid sales of that particularproduct.Blogsthat arepublished on marketing interfacesof theproduct such as thesales
website, must obviouslybeinteresting enough to draw theattention of theviewers and givethebrand a personality.There
must also bea hyperlink whichwouldtell thereaders of thecontent about theproduct and allow themto order/purchaseor
book oneof the products or services after reading theblogs.I wrotestories about
Pirates that fought theBritish colonists nearMumbaiin the18th
century,
Holy places near theGanges whereyou could cleanseyoursin andthevarious mythological stories related to
them.

For a self –drivecar Rental Companywhich wants a friendly,adventurousand outgoing personality to itself.I also wrote
more sober and deeper blogs.Thisincluded blogs about child psychology and optimumlearning conditionsfor an e-
learning startup.
Social media marketing is used to describethemarketingcampaignsbrandsand products do on thesoci al media.Social
media by itself is a very dynamic and constantly changingmedia for marketing.It was thereforeadvised that I must first
read about someof the most successful social media campaignsin thecountry.I had to begin with readingthecase
studies of thesocial media marketing of Hippo munchies intheNorth East and SpreadingChi in Delhi.
Hippo was suffering acutelogisticsproblems in thecountry.Insteadof outsourcing thelogisticsof theproduct
Hippo decided to usesocial media to reach out to morepeople.Hippo used Twitter to allow peopleto tell them
where exactly thereis no Hippo munchies left and they would respondby refillingwithin 48 hoursandthey would
the customer who informed themwith a gift hamper
Spreading Chi is a Chinesefood joint in Delhi that believed that it was red marketeering consideringthat there
were so many players in themarket.SpreadingChi thereforedeveloped a uniquemarketing strategy to tacklethe
problem.They classified peopleinto sad,angry,hungry or frustrated based on recent twitter activity.In response
they would send jokes to makethesad,angry,hungryor frustrated people,happy againand in thismanner
promoted their brand.
I also participated in thesocial media marketing for a car rental company,which was about traffic safetyduring
the monsoon
2. In general my term in the marketing firmwas truly fun.I got a great exposureto how brands do their marketingtoday.I take
the opportunityto thank Stickygarlic for allowingmeon board and allowingmeto learn so much being an intern in these
oneand a half months.I would liketo sharemy gratitudeto Aritra,creativehead at Stickygarlic communications andBilal,
