This paper was developed as a requirement of the course "PLAN 6598 COMMUNITIES AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS". Tries to present three emerging social movements in Puerto Rico on the face of the economic crisis. Those movements are presented as alternatives to the capitalism's principles of growth, progress and development.
