Come for a visit and admire the grand collection of
waterfalls, cascades of sixteen lakes; beech, spruce and
fir forests with diversity of animal life. Delightful water
colors ranging from azure to green, blue or grey,
depending on the angle of sunlight, water organisms
and the quantity of minerals in the water.

2. National Park Plitvice Lakes
National Park Plitvice Lakes is the oldest national park in
Southeast Europe and the largest national park in Croatia.
Plitvice Lakes were inscribed on the UNESCO's World Heritage
List in 1979, in the name of recognition of its "outstanding
natural beauty and undisturbed production of travertine
through chemical and biological action".
The park represents a phenomenon of karst hydrography. The
lakes are constantly formed by natural dams of travertine
which is deposited by the action of moss, algae and bacteria.
The fragile travertine barriers are the result of a relationship
between water, sun, temperature and plants. The encrusted
plants and bacteria accumulate on top of each other, forming
travertine barriers growing approximately 1 cm per year.
