PROGRESS is a diagnostic tool that has been developed over 10 years working with 90 schools to assess a school's learning culture from the perspectives of staff, students, and parents. Several Whole Education schools have committed to trialing PROGRESS to see how it can help schools deliver a Whole Education approach. The trial will involve schools using PROGRESS Exploration freely this year and providing data that will be used to shorten the student survey. Schools in the trial will have opportunities to connect with each other and the PROGRESS team through webinars and workshops. Technical support is available through the PROGRESS website and specific contacts.

3. What has PROGRESS got to do with Whole Education?
PROGRESS has been developed through collaborative work with 90 schools over the past ten
years.
As a Whole Education Development Partner, PROGRESS is working with our schools to test
and develop ways in which it can be used to help schools deliver a Whole Education.
Several Whole Education schools have committed to trialling PROGRESS, with a view to it
being available for use more widely across the Whole Education Network.
Trial schools get to use the premium PROGRESS Exploration level for free.
We are exploring the possiblity that PROGRESS will eventually form a key diagnostic tool for
Whole Education schools through the Leadership, Culture and Change Interest Group, and as
an option in the Peer Review process.

11. What is the PROGRESS trial going to involve?
Schools taking part in the trial can use PROGRESS Exploration as often as they like during
the year.
The current student survey is long; you might want to administer it in several chunks. Once
we have data from 3,000 students, we will use the results to make the third section shorter.
You can also opt out of elements in the survey.
We will be setting up some webinars so that the schools involved can talk with each other,
and the PROGRESS team can share their experience of using data from the diagnostic to
‘involve everyone in making their school great’.
If there is enough demand, we will set up a group learning workshop in the spring.
