Datasets:
1. Analysis of traffic accidents
2. Analysis of traffic activity
3. Open public data for crime
4. Coastline
3. 1. Analysis of traffic accidents
Tags: traffic, accidents, casualties, road-safety
Possible areas of study for traffic activity dataset in Greece:
• Detailed data analysis about the circumstances of personal injury
road accidents in Greece, the types of vehicles involved and the
consequential casualties.
• Provisional estimates for reported road casualties and accidents
involving illegal alcohol levels.
• Provisional statistics of road accidents and casualties, broken down
by age, road user, road type, police force and local authority.
• Implementation of an analysis program targeting on improving
vehicle safety performance and reducing deaths related to vehicles
in transport.
4. 2. Analysis of traffic activity
Tags: traffic, accidents, casualties, road-safety
Possible areas of study for traffic activity dataset in Greece:
• Seatbelt wearing rates in cars and mobile phone usage.
• Data analysis on trends in personal travel, how people travel, why
people travel and other factors affecting travel.
• Data analysis on motorcycle user, pedal cyclist, pedestrian road
casualties and the road traffic accidents involving young drivers
(defined as aged under 25).
• Data and statistics about the critical events and associated factors
that contribute to serious large truck crashes.
5. 3. Open public data for crime
Tags: crime, safety
Possible areas of study for crime dataset in Greece:
• Statistics on work related violence and its component parts, threats
and physical assault.
• Statistical analysis on deaths, self-harm and violence in prison
custody.
• Compilation of the police performance indicators which could
provide comparative information between forces.
• Study for experiences and perceptions of Policing, Justice and
Organized Crime.
• Analysis of Police power usage and procedures. This study could
contain chapters on arrests, stop and search, fixed penalty notices
and breath tests.
• Data analysis about school crime and student safety.
6. 4. Coastline
Tags: Coastline, environment
Possible areas of study for coastline dataset in Greece:
• A construction of national landscape designation dataset of Greece with
areas of land considered of national significance on the basis of their
outstanding scenic interest.
• The study and implementation of a GIS dataset containing spatial objects
with digitized boundaries of heritage coasts in Greece.
• The study and representation of the physical three-dimensional shape of
the surface of the ground in Greece containing a set of spot heights,
breaklines, coastlines, lakes, ridges and formlines in vector form.
• A shapefile extraction of wetland vector digital data. This dataset could
represent the extent, approximate location and type of wetlands and
deepwater habitats in the Greek sea which, because of their depth, go
undetected by aerial imagery.
