Scholarship Scheme. and I am uriting to send,vou m) congratulations.
The scheme ,as significantly oversubscribed. with over 300 eligible applications tbr 60
scholarships. so congratulations on )-our success.
These scholarships have beeniointll funded b1 the Unirersitl of lanchester and HEFCE's
Postgraduate Support Scheme as part ola consonium project aiongside the universities of Leeds-
Nencastle. Shettleld. -aniick and York.
As a consortium. we are committed to tinding solutions to support a sustainable and equitable future
for postgraduate study. and the outcomes tiom this project riill inform t-uture HEFCE advice to
govirnment for postgraduate funding in 20 1 5/ 1 6 and be1-ond. In this context. )'our participation in
ongoing research activities conceming motir ations and barriers to postgraduate study will be
particuiarly valuable. I understand that 1'ou have alreadf indicated l our rvillingness to parlicipate in
such research, and I should like to thank 1ou in advance for this.
