Wristwatch: The one thing in this world that gets my pulse racing to the point where my family calls me a lunatic. I don’t mind people calling me names; they don’t have much of a choice. It’s simple; I am obsessed with the idea of watches. It doesn’t matter whether it’s an ultra-luxurious and rare grand complication, for me, the whole idea of watches and horology gets me on my toes.

"Since time immemorial” - A Brief History of Watches and Watchmaking Industry: Part 1
Wristwatch: The one thing in this world that gets my pulse racing to the point where my family
calls me a lunatic. I don't mind people calling me names; they don't have much of a choice. It’s
simple; I am obsessed with the idea of watches. It doesn't matter whether it’s an ultra-luxurious
and rare grand complication, for me, the whole idea of watches and horology gets me on my
toes.
I realized my love for timepieces with my great grandfather's pocket watch. It was a simple brass
complication from an unknown manufacturer. When I found it, I had no idea what it does. All I
could notice was the beautiful golden colour reminding me of the colour of the sunlight entering
through our front porch on a summer evening and the classic "tick-tock" of the second’s hand.
The watch soon became my companion. My best friend. My partner in all my childhood
rendezvous. I used to take it everywhere: school, playground, church, the mall, tree house.
Literally everywhere. It was, using this pocket watch; my uncle taught me how to see the time. It
was amazing. I was one of the first kids in my class to be able to read time: nothing short of a
massive achievement.
It wasn't until I was 8 or 9 (really can't remember) when for the first time I accompanied my
father to get his old Rolex repaired. I remember getting awestruck with all the fine details and
little gears inside a tiny little watch. It was, I guess then I realized my true fondness for the
watches. And that bond has grown stronger over the years.
Now being associated with Watchcartz.com, it becomes my duty to spread the love and joy
associated with owning a timepiece. With this series, I hope to take you on an inspiring journey
of roughly 600 years, starting from the dawn of the 15th Century all the way to the present day of
ultra-grand complications.
So strap on your timepieces and fasten your seat belts, I'll see you tomorrow!
