Good Morning and welcome to this presentation on the challenges and opportunities for water and sanitation supply in urban informal settlements. I will be drawing on case studies from the City of Cape Town, South Africa, which is my place of residence, work and study. Many of the challenges faced in these UIS are international and reflect the concerns of the growing urban poor globally. In this way, I hope that some of the concepts and solutions put forward can be valued for their adaptability and transferability to growing localised challenges of a similar nature, facing both our and future generations.
