EXECUTIVE OPERATING
                                                         OFFICER
                                                     SERVICE DELIVERY
The Squamish Nation, located in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, has existed
and prospered within their traditional territory since time immemorial. As one of Canada’s most
prosperous and progressive First Nations, we are seeking a dynamic, forward thinking
Executive Operating Officer – Service Delivery (EOO), to join our executive management team.
As one of the two senior executive positions within the Nation, the EOO must be prepared to
provide expert knowledge and direction in a highly complex service delivery environment.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
We are looking for a professional executive that thoroughly understands strategies, processes
and issues relating to overseeing the administration and operations of 12 Service Delivery
departments providing programs and services to 3,600 Squamish members consistent with the
Squamish Nation Mission Statement. We are seeking an experienced manager with exceptional
interpersonal and problem solving skills in a complex working environment. If you are a leader
with exceptional vision, able to maintain a high level of professional integrity, and an ability to
thrive in a fast-paced First Nations service delivery and operational management environment,
then the Squamish Nation wants you to be part of our team!

What we are looking for:
 Post Secondary or Graduate degree in Business, First Nations Studies, Law or Public Administration,
  or relevant/related degree;
 A minimum of ten years of significant senior management experience, preferably in a First Nations
  organization or community (or an equivalent combination of education and experience);
 Demonstrated innovative senior management skills including: strategic planning, financial
  management, project management and leadership skills to develop, empower and inspire a diverse
  team of administrative, operational, technical and service delivery staff;
 Demonstrated experience reporting directly to a Board or Council;
 Demonstrated success with large budget management ($40 million minimum);
 Ideally, you possess knowledge and understanding of the Squamish Nation culture, protocols,
  history and political structures;
 Demonstrated sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, and decision making abilities;
 Superb verbal and written communication skills combined with strong negotiation skills, and
 Ability and willingness to travel, and to relocate to Vancouver area.
