Creativity
What is creativity?
Creativity is the bringing into being of something which
did not exist before, either as a product, a process or a
thought.

Creativity is demonstrated by:

 Inventing something that doesn’t already exist or
something you are not aware exists.

 Inventing a new process for doing something.

 Develop a new way of looking at something.

 Change the way someone else looks at something.
How to be more creative
People are creative every day because we are constantly
changing the ideas which we hold about the world about us.
Creativity is developing something new to ourselves.

You can be more creative by:

 Brainstorming ideas- this causes you to think in more
depth and may influence creative thoughts

 Go for a run- You can be inspired by things around you
and you have no distractions from your everyday life.

 Sleep on ideas- This will give you time to think clearly
about them and will then develop them further.

 Be in a creative place- this will encourage your creative
thoughts and there are no distractions from being creative.
Where does creativity
         come from?
Many people have their own idea of where creativity
comes from.

 “Creativity seems to merge from multiple
    experiences, coupled with a well-supported
development of personal resources, including a
sense of freedom for venture beyond the known”-
    Loris Malaguzzi

 Creativity comes from working the brain in coming
up with new and imaginative ideas. To make a
strong creative idea the brain needs time to expand
an idea and make it better this is stimulated from
relaxation. Science is the main key to creativity of
new technologies in society because this is where
all the inventions come out of.
What role does creativity play in
creating a media production?

People in the media industry need creativity skills to
produce a new and interesting media product that is
 different to others.

Creativity is very important in this industry because
there are so many media products that it is becoming
difficult to make something new that will interest new
 people.

A lot of creativity is involved in creating new
films, because new storylines are being created. This
is the same in other media products, such as
magazines, tv shows and music videos.
Creativity according to Sir
     Ken Robinson
 Creativity is a big issue in education and teaching at the
moment. Sir Ken Robinson shows that creativity depends
on coming up with an idea and being prepared for if it
goes wrong. this way you will come up with something
original. He states that children are more creative as you
don’t have as much knowledge as adults therefore they
don’t mind being wrong. But growing up to be
adults, people don’t like being wrong which stops
creativity. He states that we don’t grow into creativity, we
    grow out of it.

 Creativity is the process of having original ideas that have
value. More often than not there comes about the new
ways of interacting and seeing things. Having intelligence
and being interactive makes creativity more easy for a
person to handle and create original ideas.
