1998, friends and alumni have donated to the University in the
form of scholarships, works of art, contributions for buildings
and support for ground-breaking research.
• It’s Overarching Goal: An engaged and committed Alumni
Body
4. Alumni Online: alumniConnect
• The most important tools in developing interactive
communication with alumni are the current UWA website and
the new alumniConnect online community,
• The aim is to use the web along with the alumniConnect
community to:
– Involve alumni in a range of activities and events;
– Allow alumni to interact with each other;
– Deliver new and existing services and benefits;
– Introduce an online community to extend these
opportunities to alumni and provide a link across to the
UWA website.
– Become valuable world-wide ambassadors for UWA
5. The Online Environment
• The product is Encompass from iModules in the USA
• iModules is an Application Service Provider (ASP). Their
online community product is a fully hosted solution.
• It needed to integrate with the OoD’s alumni database The
Raisers Edge
• It had to have the ability to incorporate other social networking
applications such as Facebook and Twitter etc.
6. Demonstration of alumniConnect
• We will now spend the rest of this presentation
looking at the prototype of the alumniConnect online
community.
• This prototype has not be fully developed nor has it
been populated with its content
• It is expected that a fully working beta will be
available for viewing by the end of Sept 2009
