1. Erica’s “Normal” Schedule
6:30am – Wakes up and I will give her an 8 oz bottle of milk before we
come over.
7:45am – Will normally be the time Tracy will drop Erica off.
9:00 – 9:30 – Eats a jar of fruit (has been getting less interested in the baby
food and more interested in toast and cheerios for breakfast, but we still have
been trying to feed her the fruit first). Drinks 4 oz milk, water, or juice.
Around 9:30 or 10:00 – She will usually take a morning nap that can last as
long as an hour or as short as 15 minutes.
Around 12:30 – 1:00 – Lunch. She will have cereal with fruit or vegetables
(we usually mix the 2 together, but it doesn’t matter). Again drinks 4oz
milk, water, or juice.
Around 1:30 – 2:00 – Takes another nap. Depends on how long her
morning nap was, but she will usually sleep up to an hour and a half.
5:00 – We will pick her up. Tracy will normally pick her up on Mon, Wed,
& Fri. Toby will pick her up on Tues and Thurs. Toby and I have classes at
the YMCA Mon – Thurs so if one of us isn’t there by 5:15 (in the event of
an accident or something) you could give the other person a call at the
YMCA (325-2003). You can always contact my Mom (Colleen Wirth) in
the event you need to have some one pick her up right away (325-4625).
We will feed her supper around 5:30.
Foods she likes:
Cottage Cheese – Bobbi said she like it, but we have never tried at our house
Cheerios
Loves Bread
Mashed Potatoes
Applesauce
Stuffing
Desserts – ice cream, cake, and pudding
2. Other good information to know about Erica:
1. SLEEP - Until recently, she wouldn’t put herself to sleep too easy. (I
have to admit, we hate to hear her cry, so she was pretty spoiled.)
Within the last 2-3 months we have been really working on it and she
has been good about going to sleep on her own. We usually take her
to her crib and sway a couple of times to let her know it is time to
settle down. Once she lays her head on our shoulder we put her in the
crib and leave the room. At night, she doesn’t even fuss, but during
the day when it is light out she may cry for a few minutes.
2. TEETHING – Erica is really working on getting those top 2 teeth to
break through. She usually runs a slight temperature when her gums
are sore. I always keep Tylenol in her diaper bag (she takes .8ml).
3. DIAPER CHANGES – Erica rarely has diaper rash, but in case she
does, I always have ointment in her bag. Powder works too. I have to
say that Erica’s BM’s are usually hard, but she doesn’t struggle too
much to get them out. I think it has a lot to do with the soymilk she
drinks. She has this new thing with us (Bobbi has never said anything
about her doing it at her house, so hopefully you won’t experience it)
where she doesn’t want her diaper back on. We some times have to
give her a toy to look at while she is getting her diaper changed so she
stays still.
4. EAR ACHES – If you ever notice fluid coming out of her ears, please
let me know. Since she has been 4 months old, we have been battling
chronic ear infections. In March, she had tubes put in both ears. Due
to the tubes, she can’t get water in her ears. Also, I will usually have
a bonnet in her bag incase you are outside and it is windy.
5. EATING – You will know when she has had enough food, or she
doesn’t like something. She usually shakes her head “No” or she will
bat at the spoon. Warning that whatever may be on her tray, may be
on the floor when she is finished. We have been really trying to break
her of that, but she still like to see us pick it up. She will eat anything
off of the floor. She has developed the nickname “Hoover” because
we catch her eating all kinds of things (fuzz, grass, and even a
ladybug one day!)
