WELCOME TOM DAHLBORG TO THE STUDER GROUP
Team:
I am pleased to announce that Tom Dahlborg
will be joining the Studer Group team as a
Coach on September 19, 2016.
Tom was interviewed by Lauren Holstman,
Judy Kees, and Tonia Breckenridge.
Tom is an industry voice for Relationship Centered and Compassionate Care and Servant
Leadership, and is also an author, consultant, advisor, and nationally recognized speaker. He
joins us with more than 30 years of extensive leadership experience building relationship
centered, patient and-family focused, empathetic, compassionate care models; analyzing and
meeting patient and family expectations; optimizing strategic partnerships, ventures and
teams; innovating leadership, positioning healthcare organizations to achieve the quadruple
aim, and bending the cost curve.
Formerly the CFO and VP of Strategy for the National Institute for Children’s Health Quality,
COO for the Uniformed Services Family Health Plan at Martin’s Point Health Care, and
Executive Director of the non-profit research institute and innovation laboratory Hygeia
Foundation, he leverages these experiences to ensure the healthcare system is best
positioned to meet the needs of all of its stakeholders.
Tom writes extensively for a number of organizations including FierceHealth, and is a guest
blogger for the Paediatric International Patient Safety and Quality Community (PIPSQC),
ISOQOL, the Arnold P. Gold Foundation, and many more. You can also hear him each and
every month discussing the current-state of healthcare, the flames of goodness within it,
opportunities to improve and innovate, and how together we can impact the health and
healthcare of our patients, families and communities on a variety of internet radio programs.
Tom received his master’s degree in Health Services Management from Lesley University and
his bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Stonehill College.
A native of Brockton, Massachusetts, (home of undefeated heavy weight champion Rocky
Marciano), Tom and his family moved to southern Maine in 1999. Tom continues to live in
Gorham, Maine with his wife Darlene (a registered nurse) and three children: Samantha (22 –
and former Miss Maine USA (2014)), Tommy (20 – Junior at St. Joseph’s College), and Haylee
(17 – and Miss Maine Teen USA top 10 finisher), and their beloved papillon pup Gabriel
(7). The family enjoys relaxing evenings on the coast of Maine, traveling, watching all New
England professional sports teams, and engaging to improve the welfare of animals locally,
regionally, nationally, and beyond. Other hobbies of Tom’s include writing poetry, a number of
forms of fitness, (i.e., Tai Chi, yoga, and golf), and coaching young men’s basketball. He also
recently submitted his first book “From Heart to Head and Back Again … a journey through the
healthcare system” to his editor.
Please join me in welcoming Tom to the Studer Group team when he starts on the 19th.
His email address will be Thomas.Dahlborg@studergroup.com.
