1. Senior Systems Architect

A leading Life Insurance company with operations
in North America, UK, Ireland and Germany our
client has its European Headquarters located in
Dublin. They are part of one of the world's leading
life assurance companies, from a country ranked the
most financially sound in the world.
The Opportunity
The Senior Systems Architect is responsible for
leading the architecture and design of Systems
Architecture projects, and to participate and advise
during the implementation of these projects to
ensure successful deployment and transition to the
Production environment. He or she will be expected
to conform to the Canada Life approved
methodologies and standards in delivering
architecture that is compliant with Portfolio and
Enterprise Architecture direction.
The Systems Architect is associated with the
Systems Architecture Career Centre required to
work on projects assignments agreed with the Career
Centre Leader. Allocation of specific work packages
2. is managed in partnership with the Portfolio
Architect, Delivery Leader and Project Manager(s).
As a project team member the Architect is expected
to work closely and effectively with other project
members such as Project Managers, Analysts,
Corporate Technology/ Infrastructure Specialists and
Developers. As part of the architecture practice, the
Project Architect works closely with the Portfolio
Architect who is responsible for reviewing and
approving all architecture deliverables.
Responsibilities
• Engage proactively with business partners
(internal & external) and IS account and
portfolio management to ensure the architecture
meets the business requirements
• Take a leadership role within project teams
partnering with other members of the leadership
team to ensure quality of delivery
• Responsibility for the architecture and design of
Information Technology Solutions
• Provide robust and cost effective designs
3. • Develop appropriate architectural and design
documentation and communicate to the
appropriate business and project teams as
required
• Act as the focal point to resolve all technical
design issues as they occur during the full
project life cycle
• Contribute proactively to the development of the
architecture practice within the organisation
• Adhere to company standards and
methodologies to ensure compliance with
Portfolio and Enterprise architectural
requirements, and the quality and consistency of
the design and its implementation
Requirements
• Fluent German & English
• Strong Analysis Skills
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally
and written and in formal presentations
• Development of Architectural designs within
defined Architectural frameworks
4. • Working within defined project methodologies
• Ability to take business requirements and
transform them into technical designs for
developers
• Knowledge of multiple platform design patterns,
in particular .NET and the Microsoft stack
• Knowledge and experience in SOA
implementations and in particular in a
distributed environment
• Experience in B2B and C2B implementations
• Knowledge and implementation experience of
industry standards, in particular BiPRO
• Demonstrated knowledge of current technology
domains
• Experience in UML modelling
• Knowledge of Financial services, in particular
Insurance, would be advantageous
Remuneration
Our client is willing to pay a highly competitive
salary in the range E50,000 - E65,000 (with the
possibility of earning up to E75,000).
