Good Morning to one and all. To all Chinese family Filial Piety is of great importance. How many of you think that children should take care of their parent when they are old? Let me see your hands! Those say Yes put up your hands. Those say no need put up your hands. What do you want a filial child of yours do for you? Taking care of parent. Provide for them. Care for them when they are old. How many children does she have? Two – a daughter (Lawyer) and son (successful businessman) Son sells “Lin Zhi” and have Government connection. He even know “Lau Tuck Wah” Hong Kong Star. Her children is just too busy to meet anyone. Was she proud of her children? Yes, of course. Children very busy and earn big money and properties. Was her children caring for her? What about this aunty? Son is a surgeon in LONDON. A heart specialist – charging 20,000 pounds per operation. Two patients per day.
This aunty says her daughter was an accountant and had a share in the company. Company was so famous that she do not know the name of her daughter’s company. She is so busy that it is very difficult to contact her. She earns 450,000 dollars a year.
The last aunty’s son was just a normal worker. Not a big earner but have the time for the mother. Taking the mother out for a short cheap holiday.
What do 4 of them have in common? Caring Children. All reasonably healthy – none of them on wheel chairs. All wants to look good. Proud of their kids successes. Supportive of their children in giving reasons for absence. What do we learnt from this video? LOVE IN THE FAMILY IS WORTH MORE THAN ALL THE MONEY PUT TOGETHER. FILIAL PIETY IS THE KEY WORD FOR TODAY’S SERMON. Let’s see what the Bible says about Children . . .

Prov 17:21 21 He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy. 21 Shēng yúmeì zǐ de , bì zì chóukǔ . yú wán rén de fù , haó wú xǐlè . Can you imagine your sons looks like this?
Prov 20:11 11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right. 11 Háitóng de dòng zuò , shì qīngjié , shì zhèngzhí , dōu xiǎnmíng tāde bĕn xìng .
Prov 23:22 22 Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old. 22 Nǐ yào tīng cóng shēng nǐde fùqin . nǐ mǔqin lǎo le , yĕ bùkĕ miǎoshì tā .
Eph 6:1-3 1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; 3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. 1 Nǐmen zuò érnǚ de , yào zaì zhǔ lǐ tīng cóng fùmǔ , zhè shì lǐ suǒ dāngrán de . 2 Yào xiàojìng fùmǔ , shǐ nǐmen dé fú , zaì shì cháng shòu . 3 Zhè shì dì yī tiaó daì yīngxǔ de jièméng .
Prov 30:17 17 The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it. 17 Xì xiào fùqin , miǎoshì ér bù tīng cóng mǔqin de , tāde yǎnjing , bì wèi gǔ zhōng de wūyē zhuó chūlai , wèi yīng chú suǒ chī .
Exodus 20:12 12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 12 Dàng xiàojìng fùmǔ , shǐ nǐde rìzi zaì Yēhéhuá nǐ shén suǒ cì nǐde dì shàng déyǐ chángjiǔ .
