Teen Moves Abroad
Hi, my name's Emily and I'm 14. I used to live in England but now I've moved to Sweden. This
blog is about my move and just my lif e in general. :) I decided to create a blog because it had
always been an idea I had --Still haven't decided whether that was a good or bad move ;) --

So have you ever st art ed a new school? I mean I don't know if it 's just me, but all I Hat ing t echnology right now!

school had 7 dif f erent buildings wit h 1200 pupils and around 100 t eachers, What kind of things would

allowed t heir phones out , t he school gave me a lapt op when I st art ed and we can
go on Facebook and everyt hing in lessons! --At my old school there were computer Subscribe To

get a prison like tray to fill with crappy food you don't like-- f ree school meals, you All Comment s

pretty much had those forms memorised!-- And t he school syst em, I'm used t o t he

whole year groups t hing however here it s a grade syst em (I'm in 8t h grade AKA
Year 10 in England) T here probably are some more dif f erences but my sleep
deprived mind can't t hink of anymore :P Now af t er a couple of weeks people have
kind of st opped st aring and I don't f eel like a t ot al out cast but I st ill don't exact ly Emily L on Ad d t o circle s

f it in! But right now t he rest of 8t h grade are on work experience so I'm spending
my whole t ime learning Swedish, and I have t o say so f ar I t hink it 's going pret t y
well :P

4. Just t hought i'd say Happy Tuesday t o you guys! --Have absolutely no idea why
but then again I have no idea why I do things most the time :P -- So hows your week
going? Act ually quit e happy wit h t he way my weeks going, I mean I f inished school
at 11:10 --Like was there any point in me going to school :P ahaa, and lucky for me I
think that's the time i'll finish for the next two weeks ;) -- But i'm kind of wondering
where my day has gone, I f inished at 11:10 but didn't get home t il 4 O'clock!
Somet imes I t hink I spend most my t ime sleepwalking as I can never remember
what i've done 5 minut es ago let alone t hat day!
Anyways,.. I t hought i'd let you know a lit t le bit more about me! :D Okay, so f irst of
all my name is Emily and i'm 14 years old. --Just incase you didn't know ;) -- I enjoy
list ening t o music and occasionally you might f ind a book in my hand. --Well if
you're lucky :P -- I enjoy making t hings and going on t he comput er... But asking me
t o make a sandwich is like asking a cat t o f ly. --No idea where that came from but
it's the best I could do ;) -- Erm what else can I say?.. My f avourit e colour is purple
and my lucky number is 13 --Because you know, why not :P -- I have 11 piercings (2
in each lobe {by t he way I st ret ched one of t hem t o a 4mm), t ragus,
3 cart ilage piercings in one ear, my eyebrow and a double nose piercing {same
side}) and I have coloured my hair more t imes t han I can remember :P But right
now it 's purple, blondey/browney/gingery and t urquoise. --Trust me it looks better
than it sounds, pictures will prove my point-- So t he underneat h is like t he
browney/blondey/gingery colour, whilst t he t op is purple and t he t ips are t urquoise.
Also I hat e veget ables but I love t omat o sauce. --Like i'm not kidding I could eat it
with anything!-- So t hat 's a bit of inf o about me --can't really think of anything else

Goodbye Monday!
Hey guys! T hank god we've got monday over wit h! :D -- I mean who else thinks
Mondays drag? I'm just glad i've got Wednesday off school to recover ;)--
So back t o business...
Af t er everyt hing was decided t o move it was t ime t o st art packing. --Well 'start'
isn't really the word seeming as my mom had sneakily been packing my things for
months... -_- -- I don't t hink t he realit y of it all hit me unt il I act ually got here, I kind
of got myself t hinking I was packing f or a super, monst rosit y of a holiday! But you
know, once i'd accept ed t he idea of moving packing wasn't so dif f icult .
I t hink t he hardest part of t he whole process was saying Bye t o my f riends and
f amily, I mean i had no idea when i was going t o see t hem! --I mean some of them I
thought hallelujah i've always hated you... Mwuahahaha Bitch...-- But ot herwise I was
pret t y gut t ed. :( T hough I suppose t he great world of modern t echnology has

The idea of moving!
Change of plan --boredom got the better of me -- I've decided t o f ill you in a bit
more now about my move and everyt hing, more det ails will be post ed t omorrow.
Anyways, t he idea of moving f irst came up about a year and a half ago, --I didn't

7. even know my parents were considering moving!-- when my Dad ment ioned he
want ed t o move t o Sweden! --No offence to Sweden or anything but at that point I'd
never even heard of the country -- From t hen on I'd see t hem looking at houses but
I never t hought anyt hing serious of it . T hen of course my dad went over a f ew
t imes. He'd come back and t ell me what it was like and I'm not kidding, some of
t he st uf f he said I honest ly could not believe! Like I mean compared t o where I
lived in England (which t o be honest wasn't a great neighbourhood) it was t ot ally
dif f erent ! --I'll tell you about some of those soon ;) --
T hen mont hs went by --You know I still thought it was all a fantasy :P -- and it was
coming up t o t he t ime when I needed t o pick my GCSE opt ions, which of course is
a serious decision. However I was t ot ally f reaked out about what t o pick, I mean it
wasn't just t he f act I had --*Cough Cough* still don't -- have any idea what I want t o
do wit h my lif e, but I st ill had no idea if i was going t o be in t he count ry long
enough t o even complet e my GCSEs! I t hink in t he end I just did my best t o pick
t he opt ions I enjoyed t he most and t hought would get me somewhere in lif e -
-Okay that was what I told everyone but I pretty much did 'Eenie Meenie Miny Mo
(Lord knows how you spell it) And yes I know it wasn't the smartest decision but
yanoo YOLO (<-- There's me thinking I'm cool ;) )-- Af t er t hat lif e pret t y much went
on, --still with all the worries about whether I was actually moving -- everyt hing
st ayed t he same as t here was st ill no cert aint y about moving...
So t hat 's like sort of t he brief -ish background inf ormat ion about bef ore anyt hing
became def init e, but now it 's like 11pm here in Sweden and I've got t o be up and
5:30! --If I manage that it'll be a miracle! -- so will post again about what happened
af t er t he decision was made. And again please comment or email me or what ever
wit h any quest ions about anyt hing you want t o know or want me t o t alk about . :)
