What is PINs?
A network of
associations
building
connections for
immigrant
employment
Goal: To work collaboratively with networks and
partners to build the capacity of the networks to
connect their members to employment
PINs initiative objectives
1. Build capacity: Strengthen the individual and
collective organizational capacity of the
networks
2. Develop and empower leaders: Create a
network of leaders and support their
development
3. Make connections: Create effective working
relationships between the networks & other
stakeholders
PINs 2013 Evaluation Overview
May to June 2013 an online evaluation
about the past year of PINs programming
was sent to all PINs leaders
• 22 out of 43 associations responded
• 3 respondents recently joined the PINs
network
PINs initiative objective #1
Build capacity:
Strengthen the individual and collective
organizational capacity of the networks
• 87% applied what they learned in last year’s
activities
• 73% stated PINs had an impact on improving their
association’s organizational management capacity
• Re-formulated & reinforced mission, vision and
improved communication with members
PINs initiative objective #2
Develop and empower leaders:
Create a network of leaders and support their
development
• 85% benefited from collaborating with other
immigrant associations and partners in the PIN
network
• 60% implemented new programs or initiatives as a
result of involvement with the PINs network
• Sharing of resources & expertise
PINs initiative objective #3
Make connections:
Create effective working relationships between
the networks & other stakeholders
• 93% acted upon connections and referrals made
through PINs
• 67% noticed an increase in collaboration between
immigrant associations
• New contacts, networking and opportunities for
collaboration. Sharing of leads, references and
funding ideas

PINs 2012-13 Leaders Evaluation overview

  • 2. What is PINs? A network of associations building connections for immigrant employment Goal: To work collaboratively with networks and partners to build the capacity of the networks to connect their members to employment
  • 3. PINs initiative objectives 1. Build capacity: Strengthen the individual and collective organizational capacity of the networks 2. Develop and empower leaders: Create a network of leaders and support their development 3. Make connections: Create effective working relationships between the networks & other stakeholders
  • 4. PINs 2013 Evaluation Overview May to June 2013 an online evaluation about the past year of PINs programming was sent to all PINs leaders • 22 out of 43 associations responded • 3 respondents recently joined the PINs network
  • 5. PINs initiative objective #1 Build capacity: Strengthen the individual and collective organizational capacity of the networks • 87% applied what they learned in last year’s activities • 73% stated PINs had an impact on improving their association’s organizational management capacity • Re-formulated & reinforced mission, vision and improved communication with members
  • 6. PINs initiative objective #2 Develop and empower leaders: Create a network of leaders and support their development • 85% benefited from collaborating with other immigrant associations and partners in the PIN network • 60% implemented new programs or initiatives as a result of involvement with the PINs network • Sharing of resources & expertise
  • 7. PINs initiative objective #3 Make connections: Create effective working relationships between the networks & other stakeholders • 93% acted upon connections and referrals made through PINs • 67% noticed an increase in collaboration between immigrant associations • New contacts, networking and opportunities for collaboration. Sharing of leads, references and funding ideas
  • 8. PINs Evaluation summary Other comments: • Growth in the professional networks of many members of PINs associations • Different stages for associations, needs are not the same • Leverage the connections made to promote associations • Building a larger network and increased networking and collaboration opportunities • We have significantly increased scale, reach and extent of impact on our members
