Editor's Notes
The title is meant to get the business owner thinking if they don’t go mobile they’re toast.
Grab their attention with shock value. Small businesses need to understand just how critical mobile is to their survival.
In addition to the links provided in the assignment, I got most of my mobile stats from MarketingZues.com, which is powered by Full Sail. The numbers are staggering.
Mobile really is something the small business owner can’t ignore. Mobile users are twice as likely to convert.
Attention spans are shorter and expectations are higher. If people can’t find what they need on the go, it’s on to the next one.
By not having a mobile optimized site, you’re diving traffic straight to a competitor that does.
Duda Mobile has a free option whereas Mobify is the gold standard paid option.
I paraphrased the tips from Mashable.com.
In the bad example the image wasn’t resized for the web so it actually goes off the screen. The text is very small so you can’t read anything without zooming in.Zappos.com on the other hand has appropriately sized images. The design is clean, smooth and easy to read.
After Google Facebook is the envy of getting traffic. A Facebook stat should get their attention if nothing else does.
While they do face fierce competition, I dare to say Apple owns the mobile market. Where they move so moves mobile. The savvy small business owner does well to hop on board.
Overhauling your website for mobile now is one surefire method to help guarantee your small business is still around when that paradigm shift takes place.
