Re: Sponsors, Partners and Cause Support
Dear Donor:
ICARE-PJS, a nonprofit organization increasing awareness of fire safety and child sleepwear standards with a snug- fitting pajamas & teddy bear distribution program, is seeking partners, sponsorship, donations and gifts of love to distribute kid’s snug fitting PJs and Teddy Bears; thereby, increasing awareness of child sleepwear standards, and decreasing risk of fire injury.
Parents typically buy garments one size larger than the age of their children. The Consumer Product Safety Commission amended the Flammable Fabrics Act Children’s Sleepwear (Sizes 0–6x, 7–14) Flammability Standards to include standards for appropriate fitting sleepwear.
Sleepwear is defined as nightgowns, pajamas or robes intended to be worn primarily for sleeping or activities related to sleeping, A ‘tight-fitting garment’’ is specified by maximum dimensions for the following parts of the clothing: chest, waist, seat, upper arm, thigh, wrist, and ankle. It is required that an exempted tight-fitting garment must be labeled to indicate its size (The Consumer Product Safety Commission, 2013).
Today, despite major retail child garment suppliers, like Macy’s, requiring salespersons to point out labels to parents indicating sizes and flame retardation disclosures, urban community telephone poles are covered with memorial teddy bears.
Parents need awareness education and access to appropriate sleep garments, as studies indicate, snug- fitting PJs reduce risk of fire injury. ICARE-PJS’s purpose is to increase awareness of appropriate fitting kid’s pajamas using a distribution program. Our goal is to collect year round donations, and conduct awareness/ fund raising campaigns.
Kindly, determine how you may participate. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at ICARE-PJS@yahoo.com.
Thanks for your willingness to be a part of our mission.
