Suzano is the 2nd largest eucalyptus pulp producer in the world and has been increasing its pulp production capacity by 130% over the last 6 years through organic growth. It is funding the construction of a new pulp mill in Maranhão, Brazil which will increase capacity by 1.5 million tons per year and is expected to start up in 2013. Suzano is also evaluating building a new pulp mill in Piauí, Brazil which could further increase capacity, with a decision expected in the first half of 2014.
