Always send your CV with a cover letter. Don’t send
it without a proper format. Present your CV which

employer needs.
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
3. 2nd Tip
• Don’t be like anybody else/think different
do different: Generally all CVs look alike. CVs are
too often an exercise in self-validation. Sell yourself
depends on getting noticed, standing apart, being
different from everybody else.

4. 3rd Tip
• Show your value to the organisation: Send
your CV to the concerned employer and never
forget to mark HR department in a CC. Start selling
yourself to that person who will recognize and
need the value you will bring to the organisation.

5. 4th Tip
• Target your organisation where you want to
work: Target an organisation with whom you want
to work, and study the organisation. Do your
homework and send the proper hiring person an
impact letter to get an interview.
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
6. 5th Tip
• Post interview send a thank you note : Write
an individual CV for each target organisation and
send a thank you note to each interviewer within
one day of the interview.

7. Planned how to sell yourself: Must consider all possible
pieces of the marketing mix in marketing yourself in front of
your interviewer. Your marketing mix are-
advertising, database marketing, direct marketing, lead
generation, market research, media
plan, pricing, segmentation, selling, and tradeshows.
6th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
8. • Spread the word: Spread the information by your own
contacts, family, friends, professional’s
contacts, nowadays on LinkedIn, face
book, consultancy, recruiters and declare that you are
looking for a job.
• Find leads and approach: Use your profile and send
letters, emails, ads, and press and magazine
clippings, phone calls of interest.
• Contact directly: Send your letter to the hiring person
in a target company.
• Market Research: Use
internet, library, publications, the street, social
media, and phone to learn about the target company
and its people.

9. • Media Plan: Use internet, emails, or various social
media to contact Target Company and respond to
companies. Put up a personalized website.
• Pricing: Every organisation usually assigns a
price/salary and compensation for your job—still
show your economic value and dollarize your
impact is crucial to the hiring person.
• Publicity: Write articles, write on blogs, and
participate in social events and various
competitors to stand your-self out from a crowd.

10. • Segmentation: If you know a company for whom
you would like to work, target them first. If you
don’t know any target companies, pick 1 or 2 or 3
cities where you would like to live, segment your
area of interest to live.
• Selling: Sell yourself to your interviewer (called as
a buyer).
• Tradeshows: Visit your target companies at trade
shows. Industry trade shows are where companies
selling to common customers present themselves.

11. • Always preplan your interview: Every
interview call is precious, and must be
meticulously preplanned and practiced.
Understand the jargon of job seeking and translate
that jargon into meaningful marketing clues. The
jargons are: candidate, compensation, cover
letter, hiring company (companies don’t
hire, people do), job, job description, job
expectation, job interview, job seeker, personality
tests, CV, stress interview, want ads (clues about
company).
7th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
12. • Choose your target company: If you know a
company for whom you would like to work, target
them first. If you do not know any target
companies, pick one or two or three cities or
towns where you would like to live. Then get out a
map and with the desired town as a center
point, use a compass and draw a circle with a forty
or fifty mile radius. This is the area where you will
begin your job search.
8th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
13. • Never perceive a company by your point of
view: Never negatively prejudge a company or
industry, assuming that the products are too
technical or that the company sounds boring or
that it is too big or too small. Every company has
appeal to someone.
9th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
14. • Think and study about to increase target
company’s revenues: Research your target
company’s competitors. See what’s been published
about your company, its industry, and its
competitors. Then, based on what you have
learned, write an impact letter to the CEO of the
company outlining 5 or 6 ways the company could
be improved. A good letter will get you an
interview.
10th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
15. • Monetise yourself: The hiring organisation will
only hire you if they think you can solve their
problem, if you fill their need, if you are
affordable, and if in solving their problem the
employer will earn more from your work than the
amount of money you will be paid for that work.
11th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
16. • Think upon to create value: The cost of job
includes
recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, offic
e space, tools, samples, mistakes and supervision.
You must create more value than your cost. Value
is created by increasing revenues, reducing costs
and innovating new products and services. If the
job does not create value it will ultimately
disappear. If the cost for the job exceeds the
economic value the job creates, the job will either
be eliminated or replaced with a less expensive
alternative.
12th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
17. • Do your homework before interview: To get
the interview you must demonstrate how you can
benefit the company. To determine how you can
benefit the company requires diligent and
resourceful homework and research, as if you were
the CEO of the company and were thinking that—
“How can I improve this company?” How can I
grow sales, increase profits, cut costs, speed up
innovation?”
13th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
18. • Show and use your skills: To get the attention of
the CEO in your target company, write him/her a
letter that demonstrates your ability to impact the
company. Research the company
exhaustively, constantly looking for areas where
your skills and experience might be of benefit to
them.
14th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
19. • Small companies are better than larger
ones: Look for a job where no other job seekers look.
Small companies are often better places to work than
large companies. Small companies’ personnel are
closer to customers and therefore better value the
efforts that get and keep customers than do large
companies. Small companies generally offer more job
security, because hiring is done less frequently, with
great care and with an important need to fill.
If you are good enough to move a large company an
inch, then you can move a small company a mile for
which the rewards are fair.
15th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
20. • The hiring company must not only invest money to
write and run recruitment ads, they also invest
themselves into the ads. Your letter should be a
mirror of the ads. The ads writer’s words should
return to her. When she read your letter she will
see some of herself and think, “This person seems
to fit the description. This person gets it.” Your on-
target response will validate the ad copy, giving the
copywriter a positive return on her emotional
investment in creating the ads.
16th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
21. • Send a CV-letter to the hiring company which
enables you to present your experience in a non CV
format. You can mix biographical and chronological
information in a way not seen in standard CV styles.
A CV-letter has more credibility then a CV because
it is not a CV. CV-letter will stand out as different
amongst the pile of standard CVs. This will give you
an edge.
17th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
22. • In a good company there is always a job for a
moneymaker, a revenue producer, a customer
getter. Show them rather to tell them that you are a
fish out of water.
18th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
23. • Don’t write one CV and send it to 1 or 10 or 100
companies. One size does not fit all. A common CV
used for all companies is just that common. To be
noticed, you need a CV that connects with the
reader, for this your CV must address the hiring
needs, wants and concerns of that reader. Your CV
must be written and customized to reflect the needs
of each separate hiring organisation.
Do your homework on all companies and write as
many CVs tailored to the needs of each individual
company. Create 50 different CVs for 50 different
companies.
19th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
24. • A CV tailored to a company is better than a general
CV with a tailored cover letter. In a tailored CV the
bottom of your CV should be on top. The “personal”
section in a typical CV is a way of humanizing and
distinguishing yourself. In a general CV the
“personal” section is risky.
20th Tip
www.sustainablesolutions.co.in
25. • Believe in Yourself
People will not believe you or your potential unless you
believe it yourself. Work hard before applying on all the
skills required to perform in the job you are applying for
and believe that you would be able to learn other skills
which you are not yet aware of required to perform in
the job. Show your belief by being ready for testing by
employers and answer queries also say and show your
willingness to learn new things by doing relevant work
on your own and exhibit it when asked!
