  Sponsoring the SLCC
The 5th Annual Second Life Community Convention will be held at the famed Westin St.
Francis Hotel in San Francisco August 13-16, 2009. http://www.westinstfrancis.com The
SLCC represents the time and place where real people from around the world come face-
to-face with their avatar colleagues and respected industry leaders. The Business Track,
the Education Track and the Music Track are the anchors of this year’s SLCC.

We have a wide variety of sponsorship packages with some very affordable options, allow-
ing you to participate in the SLCC at any level. You can be a sponsor in subtle ways, show-
ing your support with an advertisement in the official program, or in a big way, sharing the
spotlight. Either way, you are strongly urged to act quickly. To view SLCC09 Sponsorship
  Details, click here: http://www.slconvention.org/sponsors/sponsorship-details/

The sooner you confirm, the longer you stretch your sponsorship dollar. Registering by
mid-June gives you a jump-start of nearly eight weeks of recognition on web, all major so-
cial networks and in Second Life®. Simply peruse the http://www.slconvention.org site and
  register.

The SLCC Music Track is also looking for sponsorship towards specific needs including
the Musicians Ball, equipment rental, give aways, and more! Let us know what you have in
mind. Previous sponsors have chosen to supply gadgets, product samples, customized
banners, the welcome reception buffet, t-shirts, and other things of interest. Every ounce
of support is recognized and appreciated. Contact us with your creative sponsorship ideas
  and let’s work something out.

Organized by dedicated real life professionals in SL™, the SLCC will attract an estimated
700 to 1000 people from key demographics, essentially 25-55 year-old educated profes-
sionals. The average SLCC attendee spends a great deal of time online. They own lap-
tops, iPhones, iPods, BlackBerry’s, and are actively participating in the social web via
blogs, virtual worlds, and social networks like facebook, plurk and twitter. They are tech-
savvy, adventurous, enterprising and social. They are masters of 3D virtual spaces, social
networks, big discussions and small talk. They are the epitome of modern online culture.

Participating in the SLCC09 enables you to easily reach a powerful and creative online
community. Members of the Second Life community are market-movers. They are re-
spected beta-testers, bloggers, developers, designers, educators and consumers. Reach-
ing this audience any other way would cost you far greater time and money. We are offer-
ing a relatively inexpensive, yet valuable connection with the very people who use your
products, those who should use your products and those who can potentially help you de-
velop better products and increase your sales.

  Offsite Party
The organizers of the SLCC09 Music Track have an additional promotional opportunity. We
are planning an offsite gathering at Johnny Foley’s, a local pub, on Thursday, August 13.
Musicians from the SLCC Music Track will perform together, drawing convention attendees
and San Francisco locals. We cannot estimate the number of locals attending, but we do
expect up to 150 SLCC attendees between 3pm -1am. If you would like to support this
event, please contact SueMahar@gmail.com to discuss the ways in which you can partici-
  pate.

  Live Music Panel Discussions
Experts in the fields of music and performance in the virtual world, event production, mar-
keting, engineering, 3D design and more are scheduled to speak at the SLCC09, choreo-
graphed by Katydid Something of Molaskey’s Pub. A moderator will introduce each panel
and field questions from the audience. Seven panels are planned over two days. If you
would like to participate in Music Panel Discussions at the SLCC, please contact
  KatydidSomething@gmail.com.

The Main Event - The Musician’s Ball
By day, the ballroom and conference rooms will be used for panels and dining. By night,
we dim the lights and convert the space into a concert hall. The Main Event of the SLCC
is The Musician’s Ball, held Saturday, August 15th from 6pm - 2am at The Westin St. Fran-
  cis Hotel.

Live Performance Co-Chairs, Lyndon Heart and Cylindrian Rutabaga have a full schedule
of live musicians to perform in this year’s SLCC. They are also including avatar participa-
tion from within Second Life in this special Live show, demonstrating how to produce a
  ‘mixed reality’ event.

The Musician’s Ball will be a music enthusiast and social networker’s Eden, offering live
performance in a comfortable, yet sophisticated party atmosphere with hundreds of
friends and colleagues in both the real and virtual world. There will be many photo oppor-
tunities at this event. If you would like more information about The Musician’s Ball at the
SLCC, please contact Lyndon Heart in SL lyndonheart@gmail.com or Grace Buford / Cylin-
  drian Rutabaga in SL gfolkymusic@gmail.com.

The SLCC Music Track is also looking for sponsorship towards specific needs including the Musicians Ball, equipment rental, give aways, and more! Let us know what you have in mind. Previous sponsors have chosen to supply gadgets, product samples, customized banners, the welcome reception buffet, t-shirts, and other things of interest. Every ounce of support is recognized and appreciated. Contact us with your creative sponsorship ideas and let’s work something out. Organized by dedicated real life professionals in SL™, the SLCC will attract an estimated 700 to 1000 people from key demographics, essentially 25-55 year-old educated profes- sionals. The average SLCC attendee spends a great deal of time online. They own lap- tops, iPhones, iPods, BlackBerry’s, and are actively participating in the social web via blogs, virtual worlds, and social networks like facebook, plurk and twitter. They are tech- savvy, adventurous, enterprising and social. They are masters of 3D virtual spaces, social networks, big discussions and small talk. They are the epitome of modern online culture. Participating in the SLCC09 enables you to easily reach a powerful and creative online community. Members of the Second Life community are market-movers. They are re- spected beta-testers, bloggers, developers, designers, educators and consumers. Reach- ing this audience any other way would cost you far greater time and money. We are offer- ing a relatively inexpensive, yet valuable connection with the very people who use your products, those who should use your products and those who can potentially help you de- velop better products and increase your sales.
