2. ABSTRACT
Introduction : Cosmetic chemistry is a prevalent part of everyday life which gives
innovation of “Bath bonb” as a cosmetic product . It gives refreshing, relaxing,
enjoyable and aromatic feel to the body after tub – bath. The objectives of this study
was sucseesfully formualte a herbal medicated medication bath bomb and evaluate it
for standard parameters.
Material and Method : The initial component of bath fizzy ( bath bomb ) are a
weak acid bicarbonates and starch acts as excipients base. The method used is based
on effervescent and diffusion method.
RESULT: The Bath Bomb was successfully formulated and the evaluation
parameters lies diffusion method.
CONCLUSION: Now a days the cosmetic chemistry laboratories explore to
formulate useful and interesting product. The Successful development, of herbal
medicated Bath Bomb is an icing on the cake for the Mankind and Cosmetic industry
as well.
3. MATERIALS
INTRODUCTION
A relaxing body and peaceful mind is a challenge in a current scenario and
what could be great if these could be provided with a cosmeticeutical Bath
Bomb. It is a cost –effective product that promotes physical and dyes used
in formulation and they can come in all shapes and sizes and festive
colours adding a touch of whimsy and fun to bath time.
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
The herbal, medicated bath bombs are designed to provide therapeutic and
cosmetic benefits like moisturising, soothing, detoxifying and cleansing to
the body.
5. METHODS
Formulation: Extraction of herbal materials such as ; Neem, Tulsi , Rose ,
Lemongrass and Honey are used in combination of Sodium bicarbonate and Citric
acid .
Starch is used in friction to maintain the binding of Bath Bomb.
Evaluation:
-FOR EVALUTION WE PERFORM
1. Physical appearance
2. pH Determination .
3. Effervescent Time.
4. Skin irritation.
RESULT
FORMULATION : The Herbal Medicated bath bomb had been successfully
formulated.
7. Conclusion :
Among all three formulation, F1 shows the promising result. Ideal ph of the bath
bomb should be 7-7.5, and Effervescent time should be 30-35 second . The Ph and
Effervescent time of F1 was found to be 7.1 and 35 second respectively, which
shows that F1 formulation showed promising result . Formulation F1 is good to
use.
