In celebration of Chinese New Year, the DC Area Thunderbird Alumni Chapter is hosting a Chinese
Cultural Dinner on February 25th.
We are honored that Mr. Keith Davey, former Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business
Development, Ford Motor (China) will be joining us for dinner. He will be giving a brief presentation
and also answering our questions. Please read his bio below. If you didn't know better he sounds like
a T-bird. Thank you Brent Willson for setting up this exciting event for the chapter.

KEITH A. DAVEY
Mr. Davey's career at Ford Motor Company spanned 33 years. At the time of his retirement January 1,
2009, he was based in Bangkok, Thailand serving as Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business
Development, Ford Motor (China) Ltd. And as Director, China Strategy, Ford Asia-Pacific & Africa.
Previously, he had been based in Shanghai, China (Dec. 2004 - Jan. 2008). His responsibilities
included overall strategic planning, business development, partner relationship management, and
product planning responsibilities for Ford operations in Greater China. He previously was Director of
Business Strategy, Ford Asia Pacific & Africa (1999-2004) and Director of Business Development, Ford
China (1993-1999). He participated actively in recruiting finance professionals to work at Ford, and
mentoring many through their careers. He served as Chair of the Personnel Planning Committee for
Finance Managers for two years.
He joined Ford's Corporate Finance Staff in Dearborn, Michigan in 1976. He held positions in Mexico
City, Mexico (Finance Manager, 1981-1984) and Sao Paulo, Brazil (Corporate Treasurer - Autolatina,
1984-1989). He also held positions as Corporate Analysis Manager (Finance Staff) for European
Operations (1989-1990), for North American Operations (1990-1991), and as Controller of Ford's
Global Powertrain Casting Operations (1991-1992).
He graduated in Economics and East Asian Studies from Stanford University and obtained his MBA
from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He has participated in the US-China Business
Council, the National Committee on US-China Relations, the Asia Society, and AmChams in Sao
2. Paulo (Board), Shanghai and Bangkok, and on the Board of the American Graded School (Sao Paulo).
He also served on the Advisory Council of the Lally School of Management (at Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute).
He developed a strong interest in Asia when he served as a missionary in South Korea for 2 years
during college, and through his subsequent studies, travels, and living experiences.
Mr. Davey presently is serving as Stake President, with ecclesiastical responsibilities for 13 wards
(congregations) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ("Mormon") in the Alexandria area.
He also is serving as Vice President of the Grist Mill Woods Civic Association.
