STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- For this event, musician Arthur Goldstein has paired up with The State Theatre
for a three-performance miniature festival that serves as a cultural event for the community as well as a
fundraising event for The State Theatre.
Participants of this Behind-the-Scenes pass will gain access to all three of his performances as well as entry
to two receptions where Arthur himself will join them. Receptions will feature tapas, drinks, a full dessert
bar and coffee and will be hosted in the cozy environment of The Attic at The State Theatre. As a special
gift, Behind-the-Scenes pass holders have an exclusive opportunity to participate in a Personal Performance
Auction where they can bid to have Arthur Goldstein perform live at an event of their choosing. Guests will
also receive a complimentary signed CD and event poster.
Nationally renowned pianist and performer, Arthur Goldstein, will showcase his multitude of talents in
Intersections. This three-performance festival takes audience members across a variety of musical
spectrums including piano, jazz and finally Archie Blue, a contemporary rock group.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
4 p.m. Intersections kicks off with a piano concert by Goldstein featuring traditional and contemporary
20th century music.
5:30 – 6:45 p.m. Enjoy delicious tapas and drinks during the first of two receptions in The Attic at The
State Theatre.
7 p.m. Intersections continues with a jazz quartet performance featuring post-bop tunes. For this
performance, Goldstein is joined by Steve Bowman on saxophone, Jim Robinson on bass and Kevin Lowe
on drums.
8:00 – 8:45 p.m. Satisfy your sweet tooth with the dessert bar reception in The Attic at The State Theatre.
9 p.m. Intersections is rounded out by a performance from Archie Blue featuring Barbara Neumuller on
clarinet and keyboard, Christopher Younken and Harry Werner on electric guitar and John Raiser on drums.
Goldstein has years of musical experience under his belt with a nationally recognized soundtrack and two
albums emphasizing American and European 20th century repertoire making him a true master of his trade.
Outside of his musical prowess, Goldstein teaches music history at The Pennsylvania State University and
piano at The Music Academy.
Goldstein stated that his inspiration for the event stems from his second CD of the same name,
Intersections.

“My hope for this day is that audiences for these different aspects of my work coincide, or ‘intersect.’
While working on that record, I realized how contemporary some of Bach’s dissonance sounded among
other things."
Goldstein also commented on the importance of having musical events like this showcased in the local
community.
“Aside from the copious amount of music that emanates from the University, I do find it meaningful that an
event like this is made available in our little neighborhood community.”
Over the course of Goldstein’s career he has performed with many celebrated musicians and continues to
hone his craft by studying piano with Alexander Fiorillo at Temple University.
This exclusive Behind-the-Scenes pass is available to a limited number of people so don’t miss your chance
to attend this cultural event. The $100 ticket price provides access to all three of Goldstein’s performances,
both receptions, as well as complimentary signed CD and poster. Also, as a part of this package, a $50
tax-deductible gift will be made to The State Theatre.
