3. Recently, the American Red Cross helped 19
people from six families after weekend fires in
Waterbury and Norwich, Connecticut.

4. Eight adults and four children from three
families required assistance after a fire on
Friday August 16. The American Red Cross
provided food, clothing, baby needs, and
emergency lodging. The children received
stuffed toys.

5. In addition, seven adults from three families
needed food and emergency shelter needs after
a Saturday morning fire in Norwich.

6. All displaced people received comfort kits
containing personal care items that a family
might not have had time to gather in their
flight from the fire.

7. Free of charge to the families affected, the
American Red Cross’ assistance is made
possible by charitable donations and the labor
of volunteers.
