In the early 1800s it was tradition only to
have breakfast in the morning and dinner
later in the evening. The idea of Afternoon
tea was not a tradition until Anna the 7TH
Duchess of Bedford claimed she got a
‘sinking feeling’, as the evening passed. She
thought a good way to solve this problem
was to have a pot of tea and a couple
sandwiches. As she started inviting friends
over the trend soon caught on and until this
day it still exists.
17. I feel nowadays people
opt for the choice of
coffee over tea just
because it has more
caffeine and helps them
remain alert on stressful
days. This may also be
as a result of large
chains such as
Starbucks selling so
many different varieties.
