6. Library Policies
o Library Hours: 7:45 am–5:00 pm (Friday until 4:15 pm).
o Students may come to the library before or after school to
study, do research, check out books, or for reading a
favorite book. Students must be wearing their ID Badge.
o Students who are inside the library by 4:30 pm will be
eligible to receive a bus pass.
o Students must have a library pass signed by a teacher or
library staff when visiting the library during class time.
o Refrain from bringing food, beverages, or chewing gum.
o Refrain from marking on furniture & books in the library.

Expected Etiquette
o Enter & exit the library quietly in respect for others
who are reading and working.
o Be seated 2 to 4 students per table.
o Work quietly using your inside voice.
o Do not lean back on chairs.
o Place unwanted paper and litter in the waste
basket.

Fiction books are shelved alphabetically by author’s last name.

12. NON FICTION COLLECTION 000-900s & REFERENCE
Non fiction & reference books occupy the inner shelves.
They are shelved by the subject Call Numbers.

18. Computer Usage Policy
• The library adheres to the DISD’s acceptable
use policy
• Computers and the Internet are to be used for
educational puposes.
• Visiting chat rooms such as Twitter, games,
iTunes, Tumblr is not allowed
• Changing the program settings or screen
savers is not permitted

All printing will be charged 10¢ per page. Students who
are in the library as part of a scheduled class will be
allowed to print the first 5 pages for free.
