Which is why we are even more excited to give you a sneak peak at what you will see in SolarWinds Application Performance Monitor’s next release. First, we are changing the name of this product to Server & Application Monitor (SAM for short). The reason for this change is that this product not only monitors applications, but also monitors server health and performance.
SAM allows you to monitor all of the processes running on your server in real-time including CPU, Memory, Virtual Memory, and Disk I/O. This allows you to quickly diagnose server performance issues by proving real-time troubleshooting information within the SAM web console.

power supply status, etc.) capabilities into this new release.

Monitor all processes running on your server in real-time
for CPU, Memory, Virtual Memory, and Disk I/O.
This allows you to quickly diagnose server performance
issues by proving real-time troubleshooting information
within the SAM web console.

IPV6 support
30+ new and updated templates
Users can now define a SAM Administrator role independent of the
Orion Administrator role
Users now have the option to choose the platform (x86/x64) on
which to run polling jobs. This option is found under the Advanced
section in Applications, Component Monitors, and Templates.
The PowerShell Monitor now supports impersonation for Local Script
Execution Mode.
Improvement in credentials handling for application templates
applied to Windows nodes managed via WMI.
The "Count as Difference" option has been added to all database
monitors, SQL, Oracle and ODBC.
The Message Center now provides options to filter/suppress SAM-
specific events.
Server hardware monitoring will include the following components (where available): Hard drive status Array status Array controller status Power supply status Fan status Chassis intrusion status Chassis temperature and/or status Chassis fan speed and/or status CPU temperature and/or status CPU fan speed and/or status Memory module status Voltage regulator status Machine serial number
