We conceptualized the ScaleUP USA’s Digital Business Accelerator Program in mid-2016. It took us over a year to vision, strategize, plan, and launch the digital platform. Comprendio is a SaaS that is committed to making teaching and learning as efficient as possible. Comprendio achieves this by empowering both teacher and learner with real-time feedback. For the teacher, the feedback identifies where students are making connections, where they are not, and how much a specific strategy is working in real-time. For each student, they are provided with individual feedback so they are never lost and always engaged. Comprendio achieves this game changing two-way communication using its provisionally patented approach that breaks down in 3 steps. First, teacher customizes a visual knowledge roadmap that is then shared with infinite learners as an individual note-taking tool. Second, learners use their individual copy to take notes in their own words during, after, and/or remotely from a lesson. Third, Comprendio uses text analysis to measure and colors to show the level alignment in real-time, so teachers and students can adjust and address learning gaps.

Created by Mozilla Research in 2012 and now part of Linux Foundation Europe, the Servo project is an experimental rendering engine written in Rust. It combines memory safety and concurrency to create an independent, modular, and embeddable rendering engine that adheres to web standards. Stewardship of Servo moved from Mozilla Research to the Linux Foundation in 2020, where its mission remains unchanged. After some slow years, in 2023 there has been renewed activity on the project, with a roadmap now focused on improving the engine’s CSS 2 conformance, exploring Android support, and making Servo a practical embeddable rendering engine. In this presentation, Rakhi Sharma reviews the status of the project, our recent developments in 2023, our collaboration with Tauri to make Servo an easy-to-use embeddable rendering engine, and our plans for the future to make Servo an alternative web rendering engine for the embedded devices industry.
