2.  The Inplant training was conducted at Karnataka
Conveyors and Systems Pvt. Ltd.
 Karnataka Conveyors and Systems Pvt. Ltd is a small
scale industry which is into the manufacturing of
conveyor belts. It is also an exporting firm which caters
to the needs of giant manufacturing concerns by
manufacturing different conveyor belts.
 Conveyor is the equipment used to transfer the
goods/machine from one place to another with less effort
and less man power.

3.  The conveyor industry actually started about many years
ago (1900) in the Minneapolis St. Paul area by group of
men unloading wood shingles from rail cars.
 Conveyors primarily perform the movement of uniform
loads between fixed points. They may be fixed as
portable conveyors, straight or circulars ones.
 Currently dominant players in this segment are Godrej,
Volta’s, Larsen and Turbo etc.
 There are also few small players spread across the
country.

6.  Deciding number of employees & the type of
employees required.
 Describing nature of job & recruitment of people.
 To provide skill & more knowledge about job to
employees so that they can perform their job more
effectively.
 Appraising the employees about the performance of
their job.

7.  The marketing process begins when the marketing
representatives or the agents are sent to the customers to gather
information about their product requirements.
 Then a design is prepared according to the requirements of the
customers.
 Quotation is issued to the customer & if the customer is
satisfied with the Quotation then the customer will place the
order.
 After receiving the order the production work begins. During
the production if any charges are to be made, then the approval
of the customers will be taken to do so.

8.  The quality control department inspects the quality at
various stages.
 First, when the raw material is unloaded, the raw materials
are inspected.
 Secondly, the quality control department inspects the in-
process materials.
 Then inspection is done to check whether the parts are
assembled to get the right product.
 Finally, the quality control department does the final
inspection, which is done after the conveyors are
manufactured.

9.  Receiving goods into the stores after
checking them with the content of goods
received note & inspection report.
 Maintenance of proper record of materials
received & issued to production.
 Proper classification & codification of
Materials.
 Maintain stock levels.
 Initiate purchase requisition.

10.  To forecast the financial needs of organization.
 To decide when, where & how to acquire funds to meet
the firm’s financial needs.
 To see to it that adequate supply of cash is available at all
time for the smooth running of the business.
 To see to it that there is continuous cash inflow & outflow
without any interruption
 To ensure supply of adequate funds to all parts of the
organization.
 Preparing trial balance, P & L account & Balance Sheet.

11. STRENGTH:
a)KCSPL is in the business since 1990; hence it has
gained enough experience and reputation.
WEAKNESS:
a)Lack of formal education among lower level
employees.

12. OPPORTUNITIES:
a)Many MNC’s are entering into India. So KCSPL has
more business opportunities.
THREATS:
a)Competition is the major threat for the company as it
has many competitors.

13. In this Inplant training held at Karnataka Conveyors
and Systems Pvt. Ltd I learnt about the different types of
departments of the company, their functions, about their
products and services, Organization hierarchy , systems
and process.
