25 sophomores and juniors are selected each fall to
participate in Charlotte’s innovative Leadership Academy
for engineers, focusing on communication skills, goal-
setting, and real world perspectives on issues relevant to
today’s professional world.

international firms, such as French
energy giant, Areva. The company has already hired

Learn-Work-Hire
UNC Charlotte and Bank of America have partnered to offer a
17-month Applied Technology Program (ATP), also known as “learn-
work-hire.” High achieving students in business or technology fields
receive academic credit, a full-time paid summer internship, part-time
paid work during the senior year, and the encouraging statistic that
most ATP participants are offered full-time positions upon graduation.
