Position is located in the In-Flight Interceptor Communications System (IFICS) Data Terminal
(IDT) Complex. As a Lead Security Guard I perform access control and patrol duties on a
military installation for the purpose of safeguarding Government personnel, information,
operations, and critical assets in accordance with Federal rules and agency/local
regulations/policies. I serve as the shift Lead Security Guard for the Restricted Area’s (RA) site
security. Relay supervisory messages, instructions, and special orders to Security Guards on
posts and patrols. I relay messages by radio communications. Clarify rules, regulations, orders,
and procedural instructions regarding problems and incidents. Monitor intrusion detection
systems and direct on-site Security Guards to investigate electronic intrusion detection alarms.
Review desk blotter and incidents, violations, and activity reports from the preceding shift; and
brief the on-coming shift Lead Security Guard. Conduct foot or vehicle patrol of perimeters,
roadways, parking and other high traffic areas as well as interior of shops, storage,
administrative, and other structures. Implement enhanced security in the event of bomb, fire, or
other threats. Inspect containers, personal property, and documents on private, commercial and
governmental vehicles. Question suspicious persons and warn or detain violators of laws,
regulations, policies, rules, or posted warnings. Make instantaneous decisions regarding use of
deadly force, operate Active Vehicle Barrier when required, and alert appropriate officials of
apparent security violations. Serve as a first responder in case of fire, accident, medical
emergency or criminal/terrorist incident. Report to supervisor regarding the performance,
progress and training needs of employees. Resolve simple, informal complaints of employees
and refer other, more complicated issues, to the supervisor.

techniques. I am a supervisor to many military police/gate guards at my current location. I
