6. Rehearse the Word
One of the most powerful forces on the
earth is speaking God’s Word. It is a
powerful thing to rehearse the word of
God in his hearing. Putting God in
remembrance of His word always brings
great results, not that he has forgotten.
It shows that you are confident in what
He has spoken and therefore you are
rehearsing the things that He has spoken,
knowing that He will fulfill His word.

7. The problem is we have many people
making confessions but not necessarily
based on the word of God. Positive
confession and positive thinking can only
take you so far.
Only when we put the word of God upon
our lips will it affect our spirit, than we
will see true results. Many times, I hear
people say, “That confession stuff
doesn’t work”. It is because they are
just speaking words, but they have no
idea if what they are speaking is based
on the word of God.

8. It is great to confess you are healed, but
what Scripture are you basing you are
healing on. Many times, I asked people
what Scripture they are basing their
confession on and they look at me with a
blank stare.
They are speaking words that they heard
someone else say, not based on the Word
of God. How many times have I heard
people say, “God is going to make me a
billionaire?”

9. That sounds great and wonderful, but
the moment I asked them what Scripture
are they basing it on, they look at me
like a deer staring into headlights, or
say, “Well Brother Flowers I might not
know where the Scriptures is found but
I know it’s in there.”
You truly need to know where to find the
Scripture that you are basing your
confession upon.

10. Perhaps I can better explain what I mean
if I were to give you an example. I am
not just saying I am healed by the stripes
of Jesus. What I need to say is
something like this, “According to the
word of God found in first Peter the
second chapter verse 24.” Who His
own self bare our sins in his own body on
the tree that we, being dead to sins,
should live unto righteousness: by whose
stripes ye were healed.”

11. Scriptural Confession
Therefore according to the word of God
he has carried my sins away, I now stand
on the righteousness of God and I declare
by his stripes I am always healed.”
We need to find the word of God that
will fit whatever circumstances we are
facing, and make our confession based
upon the word of God. If my children
are not walking according to the word of
God I need to find out what God says in
his word concerning my children and

12. make a confession based upon his word.
If my marriage is not working well I need
to find out what God promises
concerning marriage, then I can boldly
and with confidence speak the word of
God and expect a change in my marriage
situation.
Remember professing the word of God
only works when you base your
confession on God’s word. You cannot
confess what you think, what you feel, or
what you heard someone else say.

13. You need to know that your confession is
based upon God’s Word.
Some people are waiting for God to
fulfill a prophetic word. However, make
sure that prophetic word is based within
the word of God. I have seen people
give a so call prophetic word that have
no such basis whatsoever in God Word.
Imagine this: someone is speaking a word
and say I see seven men riding in two
campers, coming down Interstate 94, and
they are going to bring you a three
musketeer’s candy bar. (Now when I

14. finally get up off the floor laughing I
know this is not a word that was spoken
by the Lord.) Every prophetic word
should have a basis in the word of God,
do not put your hope in something that
just sounds good, and maybe gives you
goose bumps. It must be based upon
God’s Word.
I live my life confessing the word of God,
based purely on the word of God and I
see that God manifested his word in my
life.

15. Let me encourage you to stand only on
the word of God and he will hasten to
perform his word in your life.
“Death and life are in the power of the
tongue: and they that love it shall eat
the fruit thereof.” (Pro 18:21) Your
words are like seeds and they will
produce fruit. Your fruit will produce a
harvest. If you are not satisfied with the
harvest, you need to change the seeds
you are planting.

16. Fruit of Your Mouth
I have a friend who is always saying how
broke he is. I cannot get him to realize
that the words that he is speaking are
producing poverty and lack in his life and
he wonders why he stays broke. The
words that come out of your mouth are
producing life or they are enabling lack,
sickness, and spiritual destruction.
“A man shall be satisfied with good by
the fruit of his mouth: and the

17. recompense of a man’s hands shall be
rendered unto him.” (Pro 12:14)
God promised to bless the work of your
hands, but many times, we curse the
work of our hands by the words of our
mouth. Our hands and mouth should be
working with one another. The fruit of
my mouth and the work of my hands God
will give me increase in abundance. Just
about every job you do you use your
hands to perform the work. If you are
computer technician, you use the hands
to repair the computer and type in the

18. programs. If you work on a farm, you
use your hand to operate the machinery
in order to plant the seeds and gather in
the harvest. Your hands and mouth are
working together to bring forth a harvest
into your life. If you are speaking words
of lack, poverty, and destruction, your
hands cannot produce the blessings they
were meant to bring forth.
Let me give you an example, if you go to
work and complain about your job, you
are crippling the work of your hands to
produce the promised blessing into your

19. life. What would happen if you started
speaking life over your job, speaking
blessings over your supervisors, saying
that God will give you smart and
inventive ideas that will advance you on
your job?
“A man’s belly shall be satisfied with
the fruit of his mouth; and with the
increase of his lips shall he be filled.”
(Pro 18:20)

20. Let us go a little deeper; you are made
in the image and likeness of God. The
whole world was created by the words of
God.
Whatever God spoke was created. If you
will take a closer look at the book of
Genesis in the first chapter, you will see
that God created the entire world
through words.
Since we as born again believers are
made in the image and likeness of God,
we create the world around us by
speaking the words of God.

21. Increase on Your Lips
Notice what the Scripture says, a man’s
belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of
his mouth and increase of his lips. He is
creating and bringing forth God's
blessings by speaking what God had
promised. Once again, if you do not like
what is around you perhaps you need to
change what you are speaking.
This is just more than name it and claim
it, this is a lifestyle that we speak every
day of our lives.

22. Most people when they first hear about
the power of confession try it for a
month or two and give up, declaring that
it does not work.
The problem is you have been speaking
negative words for the last twenty years
if not longer and you expect everything
to change all at once. I promise you
they will change; it will take time to
uproot all the negative fruit and harvest
that you have produced over the years.

23. If you will be faithful to continue to
speak the word of God, and base your
confessions upon God’s word, you will
change the circumstances of your life to
reflect the promises of God.
Many believers who love God and who
have walked in the knowledge that God
has given them have not searched the
word of God concerning his promises.
They will say what happens just happens
and I am powerless to do anything about
it. That is not true. God who is the
creator of the universe cannot violate

24. the words of your mouth. If you speak
negative words, doubt and unbelief, God
is powerless to change your
circumstances until you change your
words.
Remember Zacharias the father of John
the Baptist, when the angel of the Lord
appeared to him. He begins to question
God’s word sent by the angel. God had
to shut his mouth so that he would not
hinder the blessing that God was trying
to bring into his life. He told the Angel
of the Lord I am just too old and my wife

25. is too old, this just cannot happen to me.
The angel I bring you words from God for
I stand in his presence and you will not
be able to speak until the day God has
fulfilled the promise told Zacharias.
Perhaps God needs to shut some of our
mouths for we are speaking words that
are hindering God in fulfilling the
promised blessings.

26. Choices We Make
“For in many things we all offend. If no
one offends in word, the same is a full-
grown man, able also to bridle the whole
body. Behold, we put bits in the horses’
mouths, so that they may obey us, and
we turn about their whole body. Behold
also the ships being so great, and driven
by fierce winds, yet they are turned
about with a very small rudder, where
the impulse of him steering desires.

27. Even so, the tongue is a little member
and boasts great things. Behold how
little a fire kindles how large a forest! In
addition, the tongue is a fire, a world of
iniquity. Therefore, the tongue is set
among our members, spotting all the
body and inflaming the course of nature,
and being inflamed by hell. For every
kind of animals, and of birds, and of
reptiles, and of sea-animals, is tamed,
and has been tamed by humankind.
However, no one can tame the tongue; it
is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

28. By this, we bless God, even the Father.
In addition, by this we curse men, who
have come into being according to the
image of God. “Out of the same mouth
proceeds blessing and cursing. My
brothers, these things ought not to be
so.” (Jas 3:2-10)
Did you know that your tongue could
control your entire body? It is a small
member (part) of the body but is very
powerful. Here the Apostle James tells
us as large as a horse is he can be
controlled by the bit in his mouth. Have

29. you ever seen a supertanker? These
huge ships are controlled by a rudder,
which guides the ship. Either your
tongue is controlled by the power of the
Holy Spirit, that is speaking and
confessing the word of God or you have
no control of it.
You have two choices, one you can
continue on your present course of life
and ignore the knowledge of the power
of your words. The second choice is to
begin to change what you are speaking
and search the word of God, understand
