ACTIVE VOICE
   A sentence which begins with the person or
    thing that does the action.
     1. Faizal helps Voon Teck
     2. Yee Ann invented the space ship.
     3. Tan Xin Yi completed the exercise.
     4. Peter has built a house.
PASSIVE VOICE
   A sentence which begins with the person or
    thing that receives the action.
    1. Voon Teck is helped by Faizal.
    2. The space ship was invented by Yee
    Ann.
    3. The exercise was completed by Tan Xin
    Yi.
HOW
Active:     Peter builds a house


Passive:   A house is built by Peter
           Verb “to be” + past participle + by
FORMULA
   Simple Present : is / am/ are + past participle
   Simple Past : was/were + past participle
   Present Continuous: is/am/are+ being+past
    participle
   Past Continuous: was/were + being+past
    participle
MORE EXAMPLES
Active: Chun Hong understands spanish.
Passive: Spanish is understood by Chun
  Hong.
Active: Julian invented the blue jeans.
Passive : The blue jeans was invented by
  Julian.
