The CFO will have an active role in assisting management in strategic
initiatives such as M&A, JVs, etcetera, that the company might
contemplate from time to time. The CFO is expected to:
Ensuring that plans are in place to create maximum value for
the company from its current businesses.
Assessing the value creation potential of plans on an ongoing
basis.
Ensuring that plans focus on key issues by (1) challenging key
assumptions and the rationale for changes in performance,
and (2) providing external reference points for value creation
opportunities (for example, value of the businesses to
alternative owners).
Acting as a sounding board for the CEO and Group heads on
critical proposals.
Establishing financial measurement standards and developing
systems to monitor performance against goals.
Supporting the development of corporate expansion strategies
to create additional owners value.
Developing perspectives on market opportunities in
businesses closely related to current businesses.
Conducting business and financial evaluation of specific
proposals.
Financial Strategy:
The CFO will have responsibility for developing, recommending,
and executing an overall financial strategy for the company that
supports its business strategies and captures maximum value for
its shareholders.
Developing and creating capital structure.
Designing and managing a strategy for communicating the key
elements of the company’s plans and performance to (future)
investors and the financial community.
Institutes disciplined risk management strategies and financial
controls;
Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities,
and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources;
developing action plans.
Negotiating and executing all major financial transactions, as
required from time to time.

Financial Management:
As the Head of Finance, the CFO will be responsible for managing
Group’s financial reporting, including the preparation of
management accounts and submissions to auditors. The CFO will
have primary responsibility for external audits and preparation
and finalization of annual reports and annual financial statements.
Preparation of regular financial reports for Senior Management,
including appropriate analysis of trends, performance and
sustainability;
Maintenance of accurate and complete financial records;
Reports financial status by developing forecasts; reporting
results; analyzing variances; developing improvements
Monitors financial performance by setting appropriate Key
Financial Indicators (KPIs), measuring and analyzing results;
initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of
variances.
Implementation and management of a comprehensive financial
and accounts management system for the company and the
development and implementation of appropriate accounting
policies;
Develop and implement appropriate control processes and
systems for the Finance and Accounting function;
Ensuring that all external reporting and compliance obligations
are fulfilled.
Establishing controls to safeguard the company’s assets.
Ensuring the integrity and efficiency of cash, receivables, and
payables management.
Pursuing opportunities to reduce the company’s tax burden.
Establishment and maintenance of relationships with lending
institutions, shareholders and the financial community. This is
to include maintaining strong day-to-day relationships with the
company’s banks, and taking responsibility for ensuring that
credit facilities are available as and when required.

Budgeting and management control:
As the senior Finance specialist the successful candidate will take
responsibility for all financial forecasts and planning, including
budgets, revenue forecasts, cost forecasts, capital requirements,
and cash needs. They will manage banking and credit relationships
and shareholder funding when necessary.
Preparation and regular updates of the firm’s business plan,
including revenue forecasts, and growth rates.
Preparation and submission of annual budgets for approval by
shareholders;
Ensure that the firm’s cash needs are accurately forecast and
adequately provided for at all times; and
As necessary, identify the timing and quantum of capital
required, and take the lead in ensuring that additional capital is
raised.
Maintain a regular dialogue with other Senior Management and
shareholders on the firm’s financial condition, future capital
requirements and performance against plans;
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with banks
and credit providers
The CFO will design and implement processes to ensure
company’s senior managers have the right information to set
goals, make decisions, and monitor performance.
Coordinate the preparation of short-term budgets.
Develop key performance measures for each business group.
Ensure that business groups have adequate management
controls in place.
Evaluating business-group performance in conjunction with the
CEO and Group heads.

Candidate Qualifications
Key Strengths and Abilities
Candidates for the role of CFO should have;
Team player with ability to build consensus in a group setting.
Excellent team management skills.
Strong financial analysis and risk identification skills, and solid
technical skills, including detailed working knowledge of
applicable accounting standards (IAS/US GAAP). Knowledge of
Securities market rules applicable in the Middle East is a plus.
Ability to work on several major projects at the same time, and
coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Good presentation skills and the ability to present complex
strategies concisely and clearly to shareholders, Board
members and senior management.
Good business sense, with the ability to analyze complex
transactions and identify key elements and issues that are
important to reach sound conclusions.
Creative approach to problem solving.
Familiarity with financial modelling, risk management,
budgeting, and planning software.
Experience and Credentials Required
12+ years of prior experience in Finance, consulting or auditing
and accounting and/or a combination with industry experience.
Candidates must have direct management experience in industry
or finance. Candidates must have experience of working with key
financial management software, and experience in the
implementation of such systems is preferred.
