2. EDITING
• Within this music video there is a steady beat that is ignored
primarily for on beat editing and choses to use on beat editing
on the words which is evident on the line “but my aching soul”.
However, continuity editing is witnessed on this long shot, and
this is show people being conducted to do something this is
symbolic of Lana Del Rey directing/asking her friends “Will you
still love me” and almost command them too.

3. EDITING
• The slow paced editing is highlighted when she sings “I know
you will” suggesting that she will always have someone there
supporting her during her life time/ career which could either
be her fans or close family and the side shot highlights her
innocence, which shows that she is neglected by people and
just wants someone to love her

4. EDITING
This added effect of a spotlight in production implies that
she is trapped within the industry as it looks like a bubble
that she cannot get out off or that she burst at any
minute into reality and lastly, it could mean that it is
acting as a security blanket that therefore acting as a
security blanket.

5. LIGHTING
• Predominantly the lighting within the music video is low key meaning
that is it quite dark connoting that she is mourning the death of her
beauty overtime but she is however she is praising her soul that it has
remained beautiful.
• This shot shows three different colours (Yellow, Red and Blue) this
then in turn shows that she has lived through all these different
emotions. For example yellow connotes happiness, red represents
lust, anger and danger and blue highlights that she has experienced
sorrow and heartache. However, as there is a dark blue background it
creates a mysterious atmosphere, and almost shows that nobody has
seen the vulnerable side to her emotions.

6. COSTUMES
In this shot she is wearing an all
black dress, that is long and flowy
at the bottom. The dark colour of
black suggests that she is in
mourning which sets the tone for
the rest of the music video at this
is her opening outfit which is
giving the audience their first
impression of her.
Throughout the video she never
changes costume but instead she
stands in different lights so we can view
the outfit in a different way and
meaning. For instance this shot shows
as if she is just wearing a glamourous
outfit that is black because the white
light shows of her innocence rather
than her mourning but the light could
also mean she is dying and stepping
into the light.
